Episode 138 | Today's Mistake is Clicking on suspicious links
Cybercreeps often disguise malicious links as legitimate ones, making it difficult to discern truth from deception. It's hard to advise never clicking on things or only clicking on links from trusted senders, because in today’s digital landscape, malicious links can come in the form of legitimate-looking emails and seemingly harmless posts on social media. But if you’re not careful, all of these can be a gateway to malware and data theft.
What to do instead: Stay vigilant; be wary of any links you click on, even ones that look legitimate. For an extra layer of protection make sure your Anti-Virus software is up to date as well as your internet browser.

Cybersecurity Daily - Episode 136 | Today's Mistake is Overlooking MFA
มุมมอง 24 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Another crucial online security mistake is neglecting to turn on 2-Step Verification, a security feature that adds a step during sign-in to help prevent someone from accessing your account unless you allow it. "Adding a second step of verification can cut down many kinds of attacks, including 100% of automated bot attacks," Sriram says. Yet, users often ignore setting up this simple and effecti...

มุมมอง 37 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
It might be tempting to ignore those annoying software update reminders, but cybersecurity professionals caution against it. Allowing regular software updates is the second-most crucial security practice after using a password manager. These updates often contain vital security patches that fix vulnerabilities attacker’s exploit. Delaying them leaves your devices, data, and privacy at risk. Plu...
Cybersecurity Daily - Episode 134 | Today's Mistake is Using the same password everywhere
มุมมอง 59 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Reusing passwords is one of the most common cybersecurity habits we all should stop doing. This seemingly innocuous habit can create a dangerous domino effect. For example, say you use your Gmail password on another platform and that platform suffers a breach - then, your Google Account also becomes vulnerable. "No matter how strong our online security is, a breach of a third-party website can ...

Cybersecurity Daily - Episode 128 | Stay Safe Online with AI
มุมมอง 714 วันที่ผ่านมา
AI systems learn from user inputs, so refrain from sharing anything you want to keep private, like your workplace’s company data or your personal details. Since AI models often scrape data from the web, what you share publicly online may be copied by AI tools. Cybercriminals may use AI to fool you. Public tools can mimic a person’s voice or image (this is sometimes called a “deepfake”). Crimina...

I purchased a domain name and set it up so that I have a "catch all" account. That means that I receive ANY email address that goes to that domain name, but I can see what email account it was sent to. It is SOOOOO VALUABLE! For example, if I create an account with Ticketmaster, I use the email address ticketmaster@(my domain name). That way, when I get emails to that address that are NOT from Ticketmaster, I know that they have sold my email address, or been hacked. You will not believe how revealing this system is!
Another key giveaway is the missing word in the text. The last line says, "A One-time verification may needed…" It's missing the word "be" between "may" and "needed". It also capitalizes and hyphenates "One-time", which I don't believe Chase would do.
