Yeah not everyone has the best of recording equipment sadly. x'D I probably have better stuff now, but this was made 6 years ago.

Believe it or not, I actually have a stupidly shaky hand. xD I hold it out even when I'm super calm and it just shakes, I'm just really damn lucky that drawing lined is the only thing that doesn't translate that shakiness. Though when I'm in SAI I do use a Stabilizer to help.

To draw with I am using Photoshop CS5 in this tutorial, though now I use CS6. To record it I used Livestream's record function and then I edited on iMovie.

I have to look into getting a new recording program, the one I had doesn't work any more.

Well this is on Photoshop so pen pressure automatically works with a pen tablet. I did have a version of SAI on my Mac but could never get the pressure to work in SAI.

Ah, of course, sorry! I always mistake the lighter Photoshop interface for SAI, and with how natural you make your lineart look, I assumed that it must be SAI, since I find it really difficult in PS. My bad, thank you anyway :)

You can really learn from anything, it's what you take away that can help you improve. Besides, the ONLY way to really improve and learn is just to just draw, draw, draw and not complain that it's not turning out how you want if you don't practice.

+J's Manga Which part are you trying to replicate? You can achieve similar effects by clipping and layering yours layers in SAI.

+J's Manga Just lots of practice, that and I'm a perfectionist so if the line isn't just right it gets redone. Just keep practicing.

Illustrator is a pretty handy tool to learn also

+Haydn Allbutt Hi, thought I'd just share what I know: the tool she was using is the Lasso tool. Basically a tool which allows you to make a selection - in her case the hair of the character - followed by the Fill/Paint Bucket tool. That is why the colour is being "filled" in to the selected space from the previous Lasso selection. Also, the resizing/moving method you're probably referring to is called "Transform". You can achieve that by using the Lasso tool, followed by selecting the area of wherever you want to transform, and then once you've made the selection, you can transform it by moving or resizing it however you want to (if you're using photoshop, you can use ctrl+t/cmd+t to activate the transform function). Hope this helps!

Haydn Allbutt she does explain and show you how to do so. If you don't know what she's doing and need a deep explanation find a video that does that or learn the tools yourself if your program is the same.

well she only tells you how to add cel shading, which is literally just the cartoony shadow type of art. It's not actually hard, and she does explain everything you need, for example, she basically just adds an overlay and removes bits of it to make for light and dark spots

I think the best way is to get into the habit of observing when you're out and about to train your eye. Look at people's clothing, note the direction the light is coming from. I find it can help to mute some of the visual information your eyes are taking in by closing one eye or squinting a bit.

Jonét Harry Oh gosh no, I use a tablet and pen. For this drawing here I used an Intuos 4, for my more current pieces I use a Cintiq.

ShepherdKingstone productions Everyone has their own style of shading, since I made this tutorial I've changed my own style though this is still 100% perfectly valid. I'm just showing one of the ways you can do this style.
