ADVENTURE BIKE BUILDS: JO'S CRUST CLYDESDALE CARGO SURLY 1x1
มุมมอง 4K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Sentient works took Jo's old Surly 1x1 frame and created a magical build that will be used to carry her whippet, Willow, on various adventures. They gave the frame a Cerakote finish, which is a ceramic infused powder coat. It's got a Crust Clydesdale 20" cargo fork on the front, to allow for a big crate to go on the front. The build is finished with an 8 speed Shimano Alfine hub gear system, a ...

CARGOVENTURES 2: HEY! HO! GINK.GO!
มุมมอง 4427 หลายเดือนก่อน
You're in for a treat. James and Tullen head to soggy north Wales to see how a Gink.go setup with 27.5" wheels and suspension fairs against one setup with 700c carbon wheels and no suspension. The results will shock you. They shook Tullen for sure. Haters will be happy to see his demise at the end. Enjoy.

CARGOVENTURES 1: RIDING OMNIUM CARGO BIKES TO COLLECT GINK.GO CARGO FRAMES FROM COPENHAGEN TO SWEDEN

The only way to collect your new cargo bike is on a cargo bike. James and Tullen head to Copenhagen with their Omnium cargo bikes, to then ride to Höör, Sweden to collect Gink.go cargo bike frames. James is riding an Omnium Cargo, fitted with a Bafang electric conversion kit because he's smart, and Tullen is riding an Omnium Mini-Max with around 30 psi in his tyres because he's not so smart. i have to admit: The Gink.Go Bikes look so damn cool to me. i love that piece of frame over the cargo section, it looks awesome! Unfortunately for me: it limits in the most uncomfortable way possible. That's why i chose the Omnium. But have a Gink.Go just to stroll around? Not carriyng Kids? Hell Yeah!

    • @CrustyMolluscTV
      @CrustyMolluscTV 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The gink.go is just different! It is definitely more fun to ride long distances than the Omnium but you can’t carry as much so it’s not as useful! I used the Gink.go daily for a year, then went to my Bullitt and now full circle back to an Omnium, except this time it’s the full Cargo not the Mini-max!

    dope vid, considering snagging a frame like this off aliexpress... kinda sketched about the warning about duty fees tho... was informative to see tire clearance questions i had answered by your video. pretty wide boys on there... did you have to pull the wheel that far back on the rear cus it rubbed? how would you rate the riding experience? i commute 12 miles every day, and was looking for something unique and fun to change up my ride every once in a while subscribed :)

    • @CrustyMolluscTV
      @CrustyMolluscTV 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You absolutely should do it! Mixing up between different bikes with different wheel sizes keeps things fresh. You can get mini velo frames with a mech hanger for mounting a derailleur too, if gears are of interest. Yes, the wheel had to be pulled back for the tire to clear the frame, but by doing so also gives the bike a slightly longer wheel base, which has some advantages too. Welcome to the channel! Coming soon is another 20” project that might inspire you some more, so hold tight!

    Nice bike. I have an old Karate Monkey with horizontal dropouts that I put a Clydesdale fork on with an 8 speed Alfine hub in back. It's been my grocery-getter for the last few years now. Probably the bike I ride the most overall. Pretty bulletproof setup.

    • @CrustyMolluscTV

      We were honestly a little skeptical about the setup! But it’s so much fun to ride and you can put so much more on the front vs a normal rack setup. The Alfine 8 just makes sense on a utility build!
