Good looking Perch there fella. Prawns are a great bait for all manner of fish especailly perch and carp. Next time maybe try fishing one rod in the margins.

Yes, Shakespeare box with Octoplus legs, part exchanged it for a Watercraft, another plastic box and fitted Octoplus legs to that as well.

Hi Ben, I use "KTC's, Minced Ginger & Garlic Paste" from the Supermarket. I also add it to Olive Oil to make my own Garlic Oil and add the paste to Pellets - The smell is Great, and Strong ! Yes, Ben, the "Supermarket", Strikes Again !! I wouldn't say the Ginger component is noticeable, but Must enhance the Overall flavour ?

I have a 'Steadfast Leeda' seat box I've owned for 30 years.. it has been on every fishing trip with me since I was 16 and is super handy. I don't sit on it anymore because all 4 legs have broken over the years and been glued back on with a glue gun!

Great video... a little tip just use a cheap small carrier bag for weighing small specimen fish.. the bag won't even register on the scales ..

I use whole cooked prawns if they aren't too big. Carp love prawns too. I also have 2 of those Shakespeare reels, used them for a few years now.

I have watched a few videos about prawn for fishing, the only thing with raw prawns is to be careful when eating sandwiches and transferring bacteria as they can cause dodgy guts, no problem with cooked prawns.

Nice perch. I've never done much good with prawns, at least compared to lobworm and maggot, but haven't used them consistently. Regarding tackle, I find pellet waggler rods cover most bases in the light specimen category, with float or buzzers. I've only recently bought my first pair of matching rods and reels (barbel), and have spent many decades fishing with whatever reel happened to have the correct breaking strain line on.

Hi Ben, have a good look at the "DRENNAN RED RANGE" reels, maybe a pair of Feeder ones ? I have the Float and Feeder ones, both come with spare spools. Around the £25 or so mark - Had mine years & still good as New !!
