Chiang Mai FLOOD | We Had to EVACUATE!
Thanks to the insane Chiang Mai flood, we had to evacuate. The Chiang Mai flood has forced many of it's citizens and visitors to evacuate, including us. The video shows the Chiang Mai flood evacuation that we had to do in order to escape the rising Ping River flooding Chiang Mai. This is the second time in as many weeks, that the Ping River flooded Chiang Mai. However, this time was far worse.
Watch as we had to brave the current and rapid flow of the Ping River flowing through the streets of Chiang Mai Thailand.

Well initially we were doing three typical gotta see all the Baltic Countries and the Balkans too while we're at it. 😂. But then we came to our senses. We still want to see as much as possible but we don't want to be frantic so we're flying into Athens then making our way to Albania, North Macedonia, then Bulgaria. Its open after that and we'll decide as we go. I will say that we don't plan to spend a month here or there. @victoriajacobson2696 That's fantastic! That is an enjoyable trip you have planned there. As far as suggestions go, it really depends on your comfort level and how you will be getting around once you start moving from Athens onward. If you want to save the most money, then a bus is the way to go. Bus ride from Athens to Saranda Albania cost me $70 for 2 people. Once you are in Albania, they have shuttle buses that go all over the country. Yes, it's true that the road infrastructure is not the greatest, but it really wasn't that big a deal. 😆 it sounds like you are taking a very familiar route. We did Athens to Saranda. Saranda to Berat. Berat to Tirana. Tirana to Skopje. From Skopje, I know it's an easy bus ride to get to Sofia Bulgaria. To be honest, I know it's not popular, especially among the Greek viewers, but simply throwing the word "North" in front of it, doesn't really change anything about it. I do have to say, considering the level of real actual problems that we personally witnessed in Athens while we were there, it seems strange to focus so much time and energy in making sure that your neighbors put the word "North" in front of their country's name. Maybe it's just me, but in the scheme of things that are important in life, a country having an extra word in their name seems low of the things to concern yourself with.

@nanualex We were told at the initial train station, just past Moravita, that we needed cash to get tickets for the train. The lady working there said, through her Google translate, that the person on the train "might" let us on without the cash. I definitely couldn't risk the "might" since we were in the middle of nowhere, and the train wasn't coming through for another 7 hours, according to her. But yeahh, that would have been a MUCH better outcome for that day. 😂 As for the Air BnB mess, it just seemed like I had entered Bizarro World there in Timisoara. We have been booking just like that for months now, and that was the only time that situation had come up. And of cours, it was made even more bizarre by the fact that it happened 3 times in a row, in a matter of about 20 minutes or so. At 18 my daughter was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer called Ewing Sarcoma that started in her humerus (shoulder). She had pulled her muscle while trying to stop herself falling from a croached position. Took her to the doctor the next day, got xrays that did not show anything. Was giving a precription for pain med and physical therapy, but 5 months later it wasn't any better and looked swollen. As she was doing her physical therapy at home, there was a craching sound and her arm just fell. The cancer had broken her shoulder from the inside out. Went to ER did another xray and now it was visible. Had we done an MRI and CT scan at the first instance her story might be different. It is out greatest guilt. 10mo after that 2nd xray, chemo, surgery, immunotherapy etc, she passed at the age of 19. We will never be the same. Regarding the horse statues in front of the national assembly building - a famous Serbian playwright from the last century said: "It is difficult to drive a horse into the assembly, and even more difficult to get it out of it." And it is said that it served as a theme for the sculptor who made the statues. I hope that it helps with the question 😀.

No we didn't get to go into the crypt at the temple. Which is quite unfortunate, that would have been amazing to witness. We did visit both of the other museums at the Yugoslavia Museum grounds. The one up front had some interesting art work in it as well as that room that was made from the storybook. Then the museum in the back of the grounds was absolutely impressive. We had seen the sign that said no filming or pictures allowed, so we wanted to respect the wishes. But that place was truly fascinating to see all the history and pieces of it. Really good stuff for history nerds like us.

For 5:31 Sculptor pictured horses as members of parliament and men representing common folk, one man is trying to push horse into the parliament and other is struggling to pull the horse out of the building, some 1939 Serbian humor that remains questionable to this day. 🤣
