im assuming this glitch is tas only also what exactly is happening to cause this
I think this can still be possible on RTA, just need more skill from it, or another technique that works like that unbuffered, if found one though.

I am curious how you routed the overworld.
The route goes like this basically: World 1, World 2-6 (pass 1), scattered brain zone and blue switch, World 2-6 (pass 2) including thirdspace, The rest of sonic's reality, World 7, World 8. This is to minimise large map movements and backtracking.
If I understand your route correctly, it goes like this: i.imgur.com/0VCFtf3.png It does seem like an improvement from my route, which went like this: i.imgur.com/jsACyKo.png There are a couple crossovers but it's hard to really determine the best route I guess. Nice job though.
Very close! but I'll be doing all of the secret exits of the castles on the second pass, before I go to sonic's reality. This will save me about 4 seconds each castle because I don't have to use the warps. Here is my route: pastebin.com/nEtmGEH8
Definitely looking forward to this, please kick my ass. and I'm guessing you mean 117 Exit? I figured 100% would be Lunar Dragon. You went south immediately instead of going to that level later with cape, why is that? I figured you would have at least got goal points to get cape sooner. Love the P-Switch jump in the Yellow Switch area. Going to Sonic's reality later? I'd figure you do that first since you never really need to go back there after clearing it out and there's no faster way back to Castle 1. 7:55 lolololololololol
Yeah, sorry, I mean 117 exit. to answer your questions, I go south and do super mario land first because I'll never trace back through that path again, and can easily be done with 49 hopping. I never timed it, but the additional overworld movements may actually make it quicker with the cape, but it was a toss up. I don;t get points becuase the only ocmbination that you could achieve would be 20 points in the first level, 30 in the second, and 50 in the third. You get 14 points if you run straight at the goal, and you have to wait a fair amount of time to get 30 points. If you wait for 50 points, there is only one frame betweeen 40 and 50, so I actually think it's faster. There's also no shell in birabuto's to use to jump. As for the overworld route, I found there is no good route through the levels world by world without fairly significant backtracking. So the route aims to track through all of the worlds twice, which means far less backtrack. You need the blue switch to make it to thirdspace. So when I get to world 6, I'll take the sonic's reality back to the first castle while getting the blue switch and progress past there. I'm going to wait to do the rest of sonic's reality after the second pass of world 6 because I can hopefully avoid the long warping animations to and from the second reality after I've beaten all of the castles. Then do world 7 and finish up.

Can you tell me the specific snes9x option you used? I'm suffering some lag while playing this game(Like Part2 water world 2 - 2:32 in video) I'm using snex9x 1.53... Please help.
the layout of the levels in this game are sort of like a mix of sonic and Mario. even though I know this game was out before sonic.. which is sort of weird..

I wonder how the rooms are handled if Wario seemingly ended up in a previous room! Also, those glitches have to be fake in those videos you linked; They handle differently especially the second one...an the creator defending themselves has the "your" typo, meaning they're one of the people that didn't learn proper English and just know people will find it fake.

It's a"glitch"noise that plays when the noises of the tail spin and the enemy kill play at precisely the right moment. Hard to pull off in actual time, but in a TAS it's pretty common.
