Is it just me or do most videos in the dc metro station review genre mostly cover suburban station? I'd really like to see more videos covering in-district stations like Eastern Market or Brookland-CUA that are amazingly located stations but dont get much attention. The area around waterfront looks really nice.

Reminds me a lot of some RER E stations in Paris. I think the architect actually said DC Metro was a direct inspiration. But I think (according to videos, I've never been) in your system almost all the stations share this same style.

It really irritates me that they won't consider building out the metro, the existing line is nice but it basically doesn't connect to anything else. The Red Line probably should be another metro line and historically was supposed to be, but it's proposed as light rail because the feds were handing out money for light rail back in 2009. The existing light rail has a bad reputation for all the reasons you mentioned, a little bit of blatant racism too, and the fact that Howard Street is an urbex paradise, so I don't know if they'll ever actually build another one.

Crystal City was THE place back in the day! I worked in the Zach Taylor building for a Navy contract, and I used to go down through Crystal City and get my lunch and comics at Geppi's. That was 1992-1994. Sad to see this.

How will I ever get to the Jefferson Memorial now? (By now I mean on or after January 1st, 2025) Despite living in the DC area for practically my entire life, I’ve never visited the Jefferson Memorial. Maybe an infill station on the YL is warranted between L’Enfant & Pentagon? (Prob not the best idea, but it’s certainly an idea)

20 minutes? My own main bus to town is every 15, plus there is one more that does a big loop and two more that go a different way (though they haven't actually fixed the lack of a bus stop sign). Tap-on, tap-off also works, even in a minor city like mine which is Newport (though not on Newport Bus, they have the machines for it but they aren't yet active).

For 28A, I think it got relocated to where the other buses are. Based on the map at 10:44, I think it’s still accurate.

Worked at Airport Plaza when 9/11 happened in 2001. I used to have lunch down there every day, walked up from AP to Clark St. On 9/11, we weren't sure if we were supposed to stay underground or not... We did, but were evacuated.. It was a surreal time.

The second Subway moved to a building in the next block over on Crystal Dr.

I remember it in the mid 90s they used to have a FYe record store and a Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, etc. the best place to skip school in those times there was a free shuttle bus, Crystal city Pentagon city and skyline where we live that ran every half an hour that we used to take down to Crystal city, I remember busy it was business booming from what we saw throughout the 90s and the early 2Ks I was there last week walking through and it’s so sad and eerie. How times change!

So sad to see it in this state. We started going there in the early ’80s and I was stationed on and off in DC until retirement in 2021. Even in the 90s when the theatre closed there were some signs that the smaller shops could not make it. There was a small shop in the Alley that sold stained glass that my mother always wanted to shop at. A loss to the area but times change

Visited and stayed in the Crystal City Marriott three years in a row on an annual school trip several years back. Loved going into the Crystal City Mall in the mornings before my school trip obligations began and getting Starbucks and Dunkin with friends. Didn't know it had closed. Dang. :'(

Ok, so in NYC we have a semi-BRT route paralleling a subway line. The M14 SBS goes along 14th Street, along with the L train when it is in Manhattan. But unlike Metroway, the M14 SBS serves parts of Manhattan underserved by the subway and sees about 10 times the ridership of Metroway… yeah Metroway could have a lot of potential, but it isnt at its full potential rn. Hope this expands in the future
