Did this on my SW20 last year, thinking of doing it again on my AW11 as the 4AGZE is giving me a lot of headache. How does it feel in the corners vs before? Can you still get to things like the spark plugs?
I haven’t had the chance to take on some corners yet. Make sure when you buy your motor mounts you know if your aw11 is automatic chassis or manual chassis. Mine was originally auto and the motors mounts are off. The spark plugs closest to the firewall are inaccessible, you’ll need to drop the engine a bit to get them out.

Not gonna lie, they feel about the same. I had a gen4 on an mk1 on 13lb of boost. I would like to see a race between both engines and same chassis

How'd you fit the 3.5 in the rear? Is it mounted vertically or horizontally, in line with the rear wheels? Been wanting to do this with an SW20 and a Highlight engine. Runs sick man!
It’s mounted the same way as the 4age.
@@jorgeolivera92olivera469months later he responds haha! Lemme clarify, 2GR-FE, as you said, is transversly mounted, might be tight fitting a V6 and it's transmission in the same bay. Wondering how you over came that, lmK thanks.
@warif4 my guess is he cut the wall between the engine bay and the rear trunk to make space for the heads, or that's how I've seen others do it on the interwebs

Can't beat that mid-engine take-off (aside from maybe an RR). That weight over the rear drive wheels really helps it dig in :) Fun stuff

I ran 17+ psi for years on my GEN3 SW20 on on the stock CT20b with E153. Around 290whp with bolt ons. That engine is going into my 87 MR2 over the winter.

Not bad tbh, B16 is way stronger than 1st gen 4AGE. Use throttles from 4/5th gen 4AG and some upgraded cams with TVIS delete, 100wkw it will be a small weapon :D
Cheapest and easiest upgrade for an AW11 is a smallport 4age. That being said they starve for bigger cams even more than the largeport 4age. A smallport with 272 intake/264 exhaust cams makes a nice lil engine. ITBs make it even better. I ran a JDM smallport, stock, with factory '86 AW11 electeonics for many years and it was noticeably stronger than a stock latgeport.

Look at how low the original c50 transmission drops rpm in shifts. The c160 or c56 is the one to get so you don't lose your revs.
MR2 would still lose. B16 just too powerful for stock 4age.
AW11s use a C52 if NA. Supercharged ones use an E51
@@mitch9521 yep. Many people think the early AW11s used a C50 and the late AW11s that had the dual hump transmission got the C52. Wrong, na AW11s ONLY came with C52s. There was an early and late model C52. Late models got stronger synchros and the 5th gear pop out issue was fixed and had both the exhaust and intake side starter humps. Toyota did have a C50 but it came in Tercels, I believe, and are essentially worthless.
@@aw11man26 C50s came in alot of economy orientated Toyotas. My 2014 Yaris has a C50. I wanna get a C56 from a Vitz RS
