I believe that the Ramones' first album came out before the Sex Pistols' album, however, either way, The Ramones were already established on the US punk scene before the Sex Pistols were a thing.. The first official punk record in the UK was released by The Damned. Listen to their single "New Rose". The Sex Pistols sound was still great and ground breaking due to their aggression, their lyrics, their swearing and their dress. The band owed much of their success to their front man Johnny Rotten and his snarling, vicious and obnoxious vocals. I idolized these punk rockers growing up. Punk later morphed into the new wave movement, which spawned many great new US and UK bands!.

RATM is a gem stone whether in the past or even in the present and even in the future, tbh I can"t even find a rock artist like them anymore, I'm a millenial, I was not even an adult during the peak of RATM, but when the Emo Rock era of us Millenials became a trend in Mid to early Late 2000s, I digged this band somewhere in the cave of brilliant musicians and I freaking find RATM so deep, so loud yet very informative. Folks, ROCK MUSIC should be reformed, ROCK SHOULD BE A GENRE OF EQUALITY, LOVE, HARMONY, AND JUSTICE, btw, during my emo days women and men are equal we just rock and we do what we like to do, no dramas, no bullshits, all equal.

I am a 75 year old career musician inspired to take up music by the Beatles. I have seen and heard it all 1962 thru now. Here is the issue I never hear anyone talk about. In the 60's there weren't nearly as many group as there are now. If you couldn't really couldn't really play, really sing and exude showmanship you just didn't make it to mass media which was limited to albums, single records and radio. As media and distribution became ever increasing especially now when with all of the technology limited talent from 10s of thousands of artists all of meh talent are flooding the market enhances by technology. Only a very few are true artists and they get lost in the shuffle. The Beatles were truly talented. They could sing and play and put on a real show without all of the bells and whistled lightshows and on-site technological enhancement. Just them their instruments and a stage is all they needed. You used to need real talent. Now you don't.

As a Metallica fan I understand the people who don’t continue to listen to them after their fifth album but overall in my opinion if have respect for this band then that’s fine. In my opinion why I love this band so much is because each member is great at their instrument they play they are not considered the greatest at that particular instrument but they are fret and because all the members are great you get this awesome sound. They proved that you don’t need the greatest drummer or the greatest bassist or the greatest electric guitar or the greatest singer, you just need people who are great at what they’re playing
