i was in college when the howling was released. all of us horror fans loved the howling. the non-horror fans liked american werewolf in london. the lines were simply drawn/split that way; right down the middle with no exceptions. horror fans like the howling. non-horror fans like american werewolf. an am. ww/london was a BIG let down to all of us who had seen the howling first! i always liked the big bad wolf-type of werewolf walking on two dog-like legs. the four legged actual wolf type was always a let down to me. of course, am. ww has the four legged devil dog variety. during his transformation, david naughton is laying on his back. i have never seen ANY canine lay on their back EVER... much less for any protracted period of time. also in the john landis film when we see the transformation scene one hand elongates and transforms, but when we see the other hand it is still normal. it just seems like both hands would transform at the same time/same rate; just as both feet or other extremities would also transform 'together'. i will give am. ww / london the slaughtered lamb scene ('borrowed' from the opening of the invisible man) and the walking on the moors at night under a full moon scene; both are quite effective, but the film goes no where but down hill after that. for me, the howling's werewolves being able to transform at will was a revelation, a game changer, a new way of thinking about lycanthropy. larry talbot and most all, if not all, of the previous lycanthropy sufferers were very sympathetic characters. until karen's transformation at the howling's finale these werewolves were not sympathetic at all. they enjoyed being werewolves. MOST, not all, but most of american ww in london's humor is very broad, going for the big, obvious laugh, which for me destroys the over all tone and takes away from the horror elements. MOST of the humor in the howling is more like inside jokes FOR HORROR FANS. most of the humor in the howling goes for a chuckle. the howling's finale with the newslady turning into a ww, yes, of course that is an example of when the howling's humor does not go for the chuckle. robert picardo, who many will know as coach cutlip on the wonder years tv series, gives an outstanding performance as eddie. today when i watch the movie during the let me give you a piece of my mind scene i always am reminded of slash from guns 'n' roses. dee wallace gives a tremendous performance. after the hills have eyes, the howling and cujo i say the actress is the meryl streep of the horror genre. she can convey so many different emotions from strength to vulnerability. in the howling for the werewolves to actual speak works like no previous speaking werewolf before ... or since because the werewolves have PERSONALITY! eddie is down right funny, has a LOT of personality and is down right sarcastic. for me, the howling is made for horror fans and is a love letter to the history of ww films; while am. ww was made with non-horror fans in mind. there have been some good ww films post-the howling such as howl (ww's on a train!), the fairy tale world of the company of wolves 1984, wer 2013, the wolf of snow hollow, werewolves within + bad moon and late phases have their moments, but NONE measured up to joe dante's truly fantastic film. i wish none of the sequels even existed since they are lousy and dilute the reputation of the 1981 film. the howling is my number six all time favorite horror film and my all time favorite werewolf film. 1. halloween 1978. 2. texas chainsaw massacre 1974. 3. psycho 1960. 4. night of the living dead 1968. 5. the thing 1982. 6. the howling 1981. you missed the point totally about the music, dude!

Without Black Christmas there’s no Halloween. Halloween rips off the POV Panavision Panaglide moves from Black Christmas. Apparently Carpenter almost did a sequel to Black Christmas. It’s a great movie within the context of the times. The script is atrocious, there are multiple technical mistakes as well as contextual mistakes in the script. Of course the acting is bad. Movies back then had more of a slow burn too instead of spoon feeding jump scares. You’re all over the place in your ‘review’. Really hard to follow. The issues you have with the film have been addressed already by both Carpenter & Rob Zombie. Hence why they did a remake. You’re late to the game brother. You’re stuck on plot & ignoring the larger context of the film including the cinematography. Come on man. The music in The Thing is not Carpenter it’s Ennio Morricone.

If I may make a suggestion, you're very good about talking as your thinking- no dead air, but your audio could use some work. There's background noise, likely from a fan, and there's a clicking sound (possibly from a pen or mouse). There's tools that can reduce background noise and editing sound can help. You don't sound like you're into scripts, but perhaps having organizing your thoughts beforehand and having them nearby will help you speak with more articulation and clarity. What software do you use? There's a lot of minor things that you can use to greatly enhance your videos. You're a good commentator!

I like this show but didn't like the woke crap they added to it. But for the most part I like it enough. I also never liked the gray suit on Batman. Never will like it.

I hate race & gender swaps they will always be bad & awful there are many many, many diverse characters in batmans large cast of characters, why not Use characters like lucius Fox & make him bruces Friend & ally in the show missed Oppurtunity, they also could of used hugo Strange to be the main Villain of the show which would of been cool.

I loved it. It’s a different universe so who tf cares if there’s a woman Penguin or if Gordon’s black. ITS. A. DIFFERENT. UNIVERSE. I loved that they set up Barb as a capable fighter, probably trained by her cop dad considering the city they live in is ghetto and crime ridden. Penguin was fun. She was a dastardly cold hearted villain with a giant cannon on a ship. This show kind of made me realize I really love Batman in a 40’s pulp noir setting. And I love this version of Bats. Who’s a stubborn guy that never really got to grow up because he was hellbent on beating the shit out of criminals rather than actually saving people. He’s just as crazy as the foes he fights. Harley Quinn was badass. A psychiatrist that listens to greedy rich terrible men and decides to brainwash them Black Snake Moan style. The art style was super cool. I mean you really can’t go wrong with Bruce Timm. Tho out of all the characters, I never expected Harvey Dent to be my favorite. I really wish he didn’t die because they pretty much made him to be a Punisher sort of character. I binged watched this show all in one night. 10/10 tbh highly recommend if you just accept the changes made for in depth character stories

Theres a female penguin, a black jim gordon and a mixed race Barbara Gordon.....the DEI is very strong with this one

I've only seen four episodes, and I love it.

I don’t like the female penguin. It’s cringe. Episode 2 was better with clayface, but not great. Felt more like a Montoya story then a Batman story. Harvey Dent is a full on prick too in this show, before he’s even two face. Edit: I wrote that as you called him a prick, that’s funny asf.

This show could very well play in Russia. It shows how evil the Communist revolution was and Putin despises the Bolsheviks so he would like this series I presume. This show scares me very much because this Commie revolution take over is way too close to happening in the USA.
