Fort Bragg and Mendocino, California. Showing you the many walking trails, Beaches, Parks and events. Fort Bragg, California and Mendocino Village have many trails, most are easy walking. I spend most of my time in Fort Bragg. We have the Skunk Train and Glass Beach here and Three Breweries. The Noyo harbor is a Great Place to spend the day! There are multiple food venues and music venues. I am providing a taste of what is here and how to find them. You will have to come to the Mendocino coast to experience these trails to the fullest. FIREWORKS AT NOYO
Fort Bragg, California. Fort Bragg celebrates the 4th of July on the closest Saturday to the 4th. This year it was July 6, 2024. The worlds largest Salmon BBQ is held in the Boat Basin at Noyo and afterwards the Fireworks are displayed over the Harbor. Many of the local fleet anchors in the harbor to watch. My new to me vid camera was set on Auto for focus. It would slip to macro when the sky was black and would try to focus on the flash of the fireworks but was not fast enough so I missed much of the display. Better next year!

It's not running all the way through at this time. Half way trips from Fort Bragg and from Willits but tunnel collapse has closed it down for the through run.
Gee Bee - how to connect for a cup of brew?
I had a knee replacement three days ago so no travels for me in the near future. If you are in Fort Bragg let me know and we could meet. It's going to be about 6 weeks before I'm even out and about town. It will be so much better when the pain is gone!

It's been going on for at least 7 years. The people running it are doing a great job of getting good vendors. During the winter they still have it indoors.

We went through there going to shelter cove and stopped again on the way back on our motorcycle trip. Great place to stop and just relax for a bit. Walked down to the picnic area you showed. Nice couple run the store. The hotel restaurant is very nice with a great hostess. Thanks for making the video.

I can get away from it all with just a few minutes at the shore!
We lived in Philo around 2000. Maybe 30 miles from Ft Bragg. Fished out of Noyo harbor. Great king salmon fishing. But, the Noyo inlet was nasty. Narrow, wide open pacific rollers. There’s a video of a fishing boat going down on YT.
It's a rough one alright, One of the roughest on the California Coast. A restaurant at the Jetty was named the Rough Bar!
I LOVE THAT DRIVE, VERY BEAUTIFUL . THERES REDWOOD GROVE A FEW MILES NORTH OF WEST PORT, 27 MILES NORTH OF FORT BRAGG.OCEAN SIDE. RAN DOWN, BUT HUGE OLD GROWTH TREES THERE. LOUISIANA PACIFIC USED TO OWN THAT, BACK IN THE DAY. I FEEL LIKE IVE GONE BACK IN TIME WHEN I PASS BY WESTPORT VILLAGE. I GET A STRANGE CERTAIN VIBE. DO YOU?

You were in my neck of the woods once you got to the I5 junction on the 20 at Williams. I’m south of there in Willows. Yes, we have a very unique world here as well. I miss it when I’m gone for sure.

Yep, North Harbor Inn, Noyo Fish Company, Princess Seafood, The Wharf and the Noyo River Grill to name a few!
The Nugget is a great casino to stay at as well. There is a restaurant in there called "John's Oyster Bar" I will say it has the best Cioppino I have ever enjoyed. It's called the "Lazy man's Cioppino" Glad you had fun!

try driving Hwy 1 and you would find out which one is worst. Hwy 1 is worst . dont drive in Hwy 1 unless you are brave enough and took Dramamine before driving
Yes and No, It is a long winding road and the driver must keep their eye on the road. The Views Are Spectacular but not if you get sick. Sorry for your bad experience

@@geebee2576 Of course! They don’t want it spoiled by tourists! I don’t consider myself a tourist though, we just live in Sonoma County. The kids love searching the beaches for cool rocks and shells and what they call “floor loot” 😂
