I am 100% Teochew, but I grow up with my grandma on my mother side speaking 100% Cantonese… Also, I did learn to speak 50% of Vietnamese because I was born in Saigon, Vietnam 🇻🇳. Also, 50/50 of Mandarin. I have been USA 🇺🇸 since I was 10 years old. Therefore, I speak 3 different dialect of Chinese besides English. I wish I could speak Teochew 100%… hihihi 🤣🤣🤣… From Dallas , Texas…

I guess teochew accent is depending on your local pronunciation. I have been to Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia believe each country has is slicely different accent for the same exact words.

It's really nice to see your family speaking Teochow together. It's one of those languages that you need family to learn from, I think. I don't think they teach it anymore, even in China?

I'm half Teochew dialect descent on my mother side! Teochew Dialect pride! (I don't speak it, but It's my heritage and part of my history which led to creating me, so I claim it proudly!) Us Teochews are smart and artistic (or at least that's the stereotype!) haha Have a wonderful day fellow Teochew fam!

Wife is TeoChew and Very Proud of it.. She was born in Saigon so has the Vietnamese culture also.. She mentions she can speak Mandarin and Cantonese but They usually can't speak TeoChew lol .. Her Grandmother was only 9 years old by her self with war all around for a long time but helped make a very large successful family,,, she was a Boss ❤️ ... I really respect the culture, it's beautiful.. And yes the food looks great 👍

Good to speak Teochew. Dont let the beautiful dialect die its natural death. Keep it up..here we speak almost all the Chinese dialets in Spore and Msia. My suster reside in US and Toronto they speak dialet at home..

Thanks for this video. Your Teochew is mixed up with English. I suggest you go to Swatow (Shantou in Mandarin) to learn Teochew as well as making a video of Teochew spoken by the people there. I’m from a Teochew family & my grandparents were from Swatow. My dad & mum are also Teochew. We speak this dialect at home, in Singapore.
