    Get a section of chain link fence to fit and staple it to the bottom. It will give you finer cutting action.

    Also compare it to the magazine length. This might be nice to know but also pointless when you have a restrictive box size.

    You reach the Leade before the lands. You want to find where the projectile touches the Leade and not the Lands. Touching the Lands gets you to the hard limit which is called, Jam. This will create extreme pressure and is to be avoided.

    I sure wish you could try it out on a grassed area where you need to fill in low spots. I’m wondering if it’s wide enough. Also I note you have angle iron turned down. I saw another one here on TH-cam almost identical except they turned the angle up so the flat surface was on the bottom. They were using it on a dirt surface. What are your thoughts on the grass sod application?

    • @stevejones4819
      @stevejones4819 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Imo turning the angle iron with the flat side down would help eliminate the choppiness that is causing the small ripples left behind in the video. Alternatively setting some or all of the bars at alternating slight angles would also help.

    Wondering how well this would work on an existing lawn? I have an inexpensive dethatcher Iand aerator I purchased on marketplace. My plans are to dethatch, aerate, then fill unlevel areas and dips with a compost top soil mix (I have lots of clay). So once I spread the compost I was thinking of something to drag. I’m wondering if yours would work or if hitting sod would tear it up. What do you think?

    Here is my 2 cents i have a Vx3hd 3.5x10x40 and a Viper HD 3-15X44 glass i cant tell a difference in daylight Leupold might be better at low light turret wise Leupold has a free on Vortex is 79.99 basically 100 dollars which cuts into the money i saved getting the Viper HD over the VX5HD 3-15X44... In Bass Pro looking through the VX5HD and ViperHD in a bright environment i could not tell a big enough difference to warrant 300 more even though the vx5 was a tad sharper then i got home and see the Viper Hd is more in the class of the vx3hd at low light so if anyone is interested in the two 3-15X44 and have the budget get the Leupold im kicking myself for trying to save a few bucks but dont get me wrong the Vortex is a good scope and im going to use the shit out it its definitely replaced the vx3hd as my favorite scope just for the fact its more versatile at low and high power n is just as clear

    Only one problem. Sometimes the bullet will just ram into the rifling and not move if the neck tension is tight. I’ve had this issue. I had to make a cut on the neck to get the bullet to move

    Nice - But the addition of a double hinged float exactly the same size as the front. Makes it effective on very rough grading.

    Where are the Vortex scopes made? By whom? Leupold are American made. If all other things were a push, a give or take, or differences small one way or the other, American-made will always trump the imports for me. Thanks for th review.

    I have encountered soft strikes and misfires. I followed this video and the starting point was an average headspace for the batch, then bumping back .003” . I failed to check if this value was within SAMMI headspace specs. They were not which resulted in misfires and soft strikes….. i now just resize to a median SAMMI headspace value.

    A short story to explain my hands down win to Leupold. I know a man that lived and hunted Alaska for 35 years. During a sheep hunt he lost his footing on a shale bank and his gun tumbled and bounced down a rocky slope. He survived pretty well. Retrieving the rifle he found the stock broken and a crosshair hanging. He replaced the stock and sent the scope with a letter of explanation back to the factory address saying that it was no fault of theirs but could they fix it. Two weeks later he received a new updated version of the same scope and a letter of apology that their product failed. No charge. That instance and the other positive experiences that I’ve had make it hard for me to look anywhere else in the same price range. I do look forward to more exposure to the vortex. Even this old dog can learn something new.

    Weaved a 1” bar in and out of a chain-link fence attached a piece of 8“ x 2“ (somewhere around that) with two fat bolts to hold weights in place, about 1 foot from the end and drugged that fence around with no problem like how the Little Leagues drags around that fence at your local community park … look up a drag screen to get the visual

    We towed 3 truck/tractor tyres in a triangle formation. Alternatively, tow around full sheet of construction reinforcing mesh, eg 6mx2.4m. By adding to end, foot diameter steel or concrete pipe to achieve very good soil compaction for a house site or road.

    I sell optics and what i have found is pound for pound, dollar for dollar.... if youre putting it on a gun, leupold wins. If youre holding it in your hands (binos, range finders, spotting scopes etc) vortex wins.

    I noticed the rope end at the knot is frayed, suggest using a heat source to melt the nylon rope ends together, then tie that to the main rope with black wire ties. I also suggest some heavy galvanized chain link (10 ga) fencing bolted to the bottom (U bolts) through the 2x4's to preserve the wood and give a better flat pattern overall. Also suggest using old motor oil to seal the wood, it will last much longer.
