A modern compound bow at 40# shoots the same arrow weight faster than a 70# recurve. So my bow at my 80# 30in draw, shoots at 355 fps. My 20 yard pin is only 3in low at 50 yards. It will put an arrow through both deer shoulders. It would take a 200# recurve to do that.

Just about every video I watch on string Walking I'm with them up to their introduction after that I'm lost as a goose and some of the big words they use I don't know if I need a dictionary or a lawyer lol . But you what I like to call dumb it down for us dumb folks. Any way I try it out and It works except the anchor point at the chin it doesn't feel right for me but using your string Walking technique with my anchor point it work the same . I use compound because I can pull a 68” draw at 18 years old with compound, I can barely pull 45 with a traditional bow, granted I know limb length has a lot to do with it but I will be sticking to my 5 1/2 pound 68 pound draw pse carbon Edit: I am older with some more meat on the bone now, but still the pse imo makes even the newer Mathew’s bows seem pretty tame

I hunted with a compound for a decade. Very boring. See deer kill deer. Wanna thrill? Learn to hunt with a stick and a string. Ive ended up killing 2 P&Y with a recurve. Compound?? Nah. Been there and done that.

So I tried this and now I'm shooting out to 50 yards no problem. I sart 20,30,40,50 then walk back down 50, 40, 30, 20, this has changed my traditional confidence tremendously

I literally dont care anything about compund bows. I pretend they dont exist & keep on loving my trad bows. Its pure meditation and a solid activity to get my mind on something much simpler and relaxed than our crazy techno world

I can’t tell you how easy it is to sneak up on deer. Why dress like a bush? You can dress like a van with the horn blaring and they will just stand there!

Nice adventure! In our forest we have a 3D archery turkey you can shoot at. But it doesn’t move or make a sound. And I never saw an Animal there, not even birds, really strange.

This certainly ONLY applies to Olympic recurves. You do this on a longbow or a wooden recurve you will lose so much power and short draw your arrow. Target archery only if you are trying to string walk.

Hey Mark. My bowstring on my recurve bow has gradually lengthened over time. First I didn’t notice. But at some point I could no longer put the arrow in because the feathers were touching the release. That shouldn’t happen to a bowstring, right? I replaced it with a new one.
