Whilst being very proud as always of anything "Rifles". I'm sure that many of us who served in the regiment in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's will note the difference between the bands we knew back then and the one above. There is something distinctly lacking to be frank, and if you can't spot it then have a look at any of the numerous clips of RGJ and LI bands of the period. The program of music seems rather tedious and dreary, (does no one play "Blaze Away" any more? )There's some very dodgy bugling too, and whoever thought it was clever to have the Bandsmen do the Double march is a clown, as we can see. There's a lack of conviction throughout all of this parade, the Bugles in particular seem pretty limp and the Bugle Major is less than impressive, he needs to practice and sharpern up his drill to ber frank. But then again, I served when Colin Green was the senior BM of the Light Division, there is simply no comparison!

Sorry Wills Challis I am not sure you are entrirely accurate about the 60th (The Kings Royal Rifle Corps / The 60th Royal Americans / the Green Jackets) - They once a very long time ago did indeed wear a red jacket whilst forming during the American War of Independance, however members of Brtish Infantry "Light companies" (not from the 60th) would have worn red. The Green Jackets are called Green Jacket for that reason and soon only wore the green. It would have been the 60th Royal Americans who wore the red and this is reflected in the red facings of the latter day Royal Green Jackets now sadly long merging into "The Rifles" took effect on 1 February 2007 with the 1st Battalion Royal Green Jackets becoming the 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, the 2nd Battalion Royal Green Jackets becoming 4th Battalion, The Rifles.

What is the name of the first march song they play when they enter? I know the USMC play this song at USMC BMT Graduation day ceremony when the unit Guidons are retired to the Drill Instructors.

First time I have sat and watched the full length version ....and a stunning display , if only for the choreography!, well done to all on "duty " , one of the best performances I have seen from the successors to the Light Div /Greenjackets ...AKA the family 's Band !

Great effort by the "Cloggies' and the 'Belgian personnel. Nothing to fault in this most excellent presentation.

Bloody brilliant bugle playing, the Indian Army model their own efforts on the Light Brigade. Well done lads.

Nice entry! To National Emblem -- Then on to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B. At 6:00 I think we have Classic Cab Calloway Jazz from the 30s. You may [or may not] know that it was African American US Army Band Leader Lt. James Reese Europe that introduced jazz to the Europeans during World War One with his fabulous band for the Harlem Hellfighters Regiment of the NY National Guard [369th Infantry] More available at Wikipedia.
