Every second year, you have to renew your pilots license. I have to go to Cape Winelands and Aerosport to have it done. The wind was an average of 20 - 30mph and made for an interesting test. All went well and landed safely back at Worcester.

Great flight what camera are you using to give you all the data?
I use the Insta360 x3 with smart remote.
That music was so annoying. Stopped half way through
Maybe your airtime is finished. Go watch other clips that you like.
brilliant that text! hahahah 🤣🤙
Amazing
Thanks
I concuraculate you my friend. Very good and Light landing.
Thanks a lot!
Amazing 😎😎👏👏
Thanks ✌️
Wow, the breath taking music is what sold me, har...
Thanks
Love it brings back memories
Surely does.
You begin to understand the nuances of control and balance in the T21, which is as good a base as any from where to launch a career as a pilot.
Nicely done Wally! Regards from the Netherlands 😄👋
👍
Nice landing, is Oribi like an offshoot of Zenith?
It is a smaller version of the Savanha. It has n Rotax 582, which is 65hp.
Thank you for your videos! Love the data overlay. Would you comment on how one could duplicate.
The insta360 Camera Smart remote captures the detail, and then you can add it when you download and render the video. I hope that makes sense. The key is the smart remote.
Very nice video....
Thank you very much.
Beautiful shots!
Thanks
Did you only get the vibration down to 1.0 IPS?
The edit makes it look like your passenger fell out somewhere over the dam 😂
Ironically another video below this video is titled “gyrocopter is not a short take off aircraft” 😅
Luckily, they don't know what we know.
@@johnnygyro64ok. I’ll quote you to the video. Let’s see how u two go after each other lol.
@@grasuh luckily I have nothing to prove to anyone. Each one to himself.
Awesome video! Thank you, Johan.
I've been to Worcester a few times over the last week and it's good to see clear skies there again. Seeing how close the burn scars are to the buildings show how hard the fire fighting crews had to work. Respect!
The poor guys have been at it for days now. I think the fires are started on purpose. Very sad situation. Lots of property were destroyed.
Another great video. I love that you caught the NCCR train too. (nccr.co.za) Have you done a trip with them yet? It's loads of fun.
Hi Gordon. It was surely a great sight to see the train. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to ride on that train. I'm very glad that I could share the view from above.
Hi Johan - Waar het julle daardie helmets gekoop?
Ek het dit by n vriend gekry, maar ek sal die details moet kry waar dit gekoop is. Ek het een ander helmet beskikbaar wat ek eers gebruik het.
By n vriend.
Congratulations Johan. Thanks for sharing many of those hours with us here.
Thanks, Gordon. I am very glad that you also enjoy the fun with me.
It's definitely not as good as being in the air with you, but gives those of us stuck on the ground at least a little idea of what it's like for you.
Congratulations! May you be blessed with many more safe and enjoyable flights hours!
Thanks, much appreciated 🙏
Well done!
Thanks Rudolph.
NIce, now i know too :)
It is good to know about the ditch in the runway and where it is exactly.
I'd love to join you when you're flying here again. 😊 Breakfast on me, obviously!
Whenever the weather is good on a Saturday or Sunday you can be sure I will be there.
@@johnnygyro64 Just give me enough notice to drive through from McGregor, and I'll be there!
Kan mos net lekker wees...
Dit is beslis iets om te doen. Dan is die kos en mense daar ook nog aangenaam.
love seeing Robertson and the Breederiview like this, thank you.
It's a pleasure sharing the experience.
Awesome
Thanks.
'PromoSM' 😩
What do you mean. If you don't like my videos, don't watch it.
Everyone who flies trusts their engines to some extent.
That is true, but always expect the unexpected. I had an engine out once.
Very dramatic footage... but, you really must trust your engine...
For sure. I also use both fuel pumps, trim for 70mph and fly 90mph.
As long as you are comfortable with that, I will not be one to critisize... By the way, I always fly with both fuel pumps on...
In the Cape there are different thoughts on one or two pumps on. I had an engine out some months ago, and I was on the one that stopped. Went through the drills, and the second spare pump saved me. The pump that died on me was because of it chafed through. Now, if I flew with both on, I would have had no chance because there were 3 more wires in line that was also about to fail.
@@johnnygyro64 what do you mean by "chafed through"?
At the back seat where the loom passes through, the wires started to chafe through.
That is simply showing off! Wow, Dead on the centre-line, touch down like a cat peeing on a pool-table. Well done!
I learned from the best, that's why.

Thanks
Excellent Johan.
Thank you very much.
Wow, must have been awesome!
Amazing experience
Wow, who lead this expidition? Would have love to be there!
One amazing adventure. A must do event.
Neil Bowden from South Africa.
So cool
Truly amazing
Awesome experience!
Absolutely amazing and so beautiful there!
Johan, I see that you're carrying a fuel container. What is the range of your gyro?
The Magni M16 has a 70 litter fuel tank that allows me to fly 3 hours continuously. I normally round up to 20l/h. The extra 25l is just for good measure. I prefer to have the tank full.
@@johnnygyro64 yes, running low on fuel in the Tankwa wouldn't be a great idea! Thanks for the feedback.
This is Worcester behind the camera. My hometown. Brandvlei in the background. I lived there from 1952, and have never seen the river this wide.
I must say, this year is exceptionally different. I was born here and can remember how we had rain like this for 3 weeks.
This is so beautiful
Thanks
hope you were wearing a life jacket!
O boy, this was hectic weather, although clear skies. Did 2 circuits and landed. No life jacket, but you taught me the right way. Either enough height or on the side. Lol
Thanks Johan, I was keen to see what the truly Breede was looking like from above. If the weather clears up again, it will be interesting to see what it looks like further down stream. Most of the bridges are now closed for safety.
Gordon, I was going to do Rawsonville as well, but the next cold front is on its way. The turbulent weather prevented me from flying.
Yes, the wind came up really quickly again.
Scary looking river...
This river has not run like this for a long time
@@johnnygyro64 It has been a crazy year from climate stand point...
Baie nice!
Thanks
Lekker Johan!
Thanks
