Rescudog is honestly a pretty cool design and if it were just a little better quality I could see it passing as a real Pokemon. Just a shame I have no idea how you evolve it's pre evolved form into it

If you bring Legion into this fight and Vehrn also, they both have unique discussions with the High Priest. And you also get to learn the name Bostolm, the name of the mad soul within Legion who the High Priest itself claimed was one of the best and brightest.

If you actually bring Solaar into this fight, there is special dialogue you will only hear just this once. The Guardian’s real name is Girru and Solaar actually knows the Guardian on a certain level.

What made the OG fight so hard was that from a thematic and clever standpoint, Moric is basically a Grand Master level Mage on a planet where the most of the fighting force is geared more toward Physical assault over Magic. Even the Shamans would find Moric a somewhat strong match to themselves. Now don't get me wrong, it actually makes perfect sense. And it was further played into by way of the fact that when facing Moric in the Catacombs, you had very few good ways to resist enough of his Offensive Magic with reactions, much less actual Magic Defense points. And Arcane Cataclysm reduces Spirit and Magic Defense by 2 every time it got used. But this was somewhat taken too far in the remastering when Chapter 3 came out and reduced the Fire Pendant from 5 Magic Defense to 1 and the SnakeStone was reduced from 3 to 1 also. Oddly enough, the non remade Chapter 2 had it easier despite some of its flaws because you at least could weather him by raw defense noticeably better. Especially with SnakeStone nullifying Poison Gas and having a decent 3 Magic Defense. And the Trilobite Armor giving you higher Water resistance compared to the remaster made Emela an alternative healer in the non remake version to help you out more. Has the Nineveh Mod actually addressed this and you can have better Magic Defense? Fighting him in Canonia was easier with Green Beads you can access and their overall high value to have the whole party wearing them. But you still had to keep on your toes even with Green Beads and all the Magic Defense reactions available for that point in time.

They should have arrested Muriance instead of letting him go. But to be fair, that probably wouldn't stop Steele from trying to beat him to death.

I remember fighting and beating this thing once. I didn’t even remotely use the strategy shown here. I don’t remember what I did, but it was super convoluted and I know I used Legion for that battle.

Looking back, it is rather puzzling we never did see Rot Rats in Chapter 2. I mean, in the YALORT Monastery and Saul’s Dungeon made sense because of how those situations played out, but I could realistically see them around or even in the Catacombs after Moric was raising everything he could to undead life as he was. This was a nice addition. And is this placed before entering the Catacombs? That’s a new floor layout and the sewers didn’t have bones littered around like that.

Even vanilla in the mod, by raw versatility Karon’s is still a very dangerous opponent. You can manage a decent chunk of the assaults, but the moment Fig comes up you are just flatly screwed. You may have new toys to tinker with, but Karnos can still eat you alive.

I remember having to fight this thing being so severely underleveled for this(I think I was like lvl 25 at best) it’s been so many years ago. At the time it was the hardest encounter in the game, although idk what all has changed with this mod.
