I get paid for all that time as if I am employed even if you remove all my access and not give me any tasks to do. Oh, speaking of tasks, if I have a job interview lined up and notify the employer they are not allowed to schedule meetings or tasks that would interfere with my job hunting efforts.

I was fired from a company in El Paso TX, for not meeting there quotas. Problem is i was working in their accounting department and discovered one of the owers using companies money for his affairs. Inaddition to tax fraud, i brought up to the other business partners and next day fired. So someone else reported them into IRS, and next month they filed for bankruptcy and turned around and stated another company up. Happens alot these types of states.

Depending on your position and the current situation your boss might hate it but they'll keep your for those two weeks and pay you it too cause they need you to let everyone else on your team know what's going on and potentially train up someone. Might suck a bit but better than them just dropping you there.

So I call him and tell him and he's like "I just dont want you to think that I'm not good for it, I'm good for it I'll pay you" I called bullshit and immediately responded "Well whether you're good for it or not is up for my lawyer to decide, this is your notice for wage theft." Bro lost his shit started yelling, and I stayed calm and picked my final paycheck up 2 days later.

An employer can discriminate all they want. The problem is how many employees actually know how to prove that an employer has adopted policies, or allow actions, that discriminate against protected classes of employees. It's not like schools are providing educational courses in order to teach neither children nor adults as to what their rights are under federal law. For that matter, not many - if any schools - teach what your rights are under the U.S. Constitution nor the U.S. Bill of Rights. The truth is that people have to force themselves to learn on their own, and if their are such people, try to find someone whom give lectures or classes on getting the proof necessary to win a discrimination lawsuit in court.

You can also kick your bosses ass. Just make sure its not on camera, you dont make threats where others can see or hear, and there are no witnesses. Will you get fired, yeah. Arrested, maybe, but is it worth it? You betcha. There are other jobs with better pay. People get mugged all the time in parking garages, parking lots, and on docks....... You're a laughingstock with that nonsense in the USA. PTO isn't legally mandated at all and it's only payable if the company policy dictates it. And you don't get paid for time not worked. But you could get 6 months pay for unemployment if they fired you without cause.

I had a job offer that pretty much was like a w-2 employee but, then I started asking them these questions, when they said that I would be a 1099 employee, I told them what they were doing is illegal. I happen to work for the IRS, and knowing the laws around W-2 employees and 1099 employees is pretty straightforward. Yeah, they hung up on me.

It's illegal to fire someone on the day they give notice. It's a easy retaliation lawsuit.
