Bundle Sticks Farm and Education Center is a non-profit farm-based education and demonstration site producing land-connected crafts and craft materials and offering educational events for youth and adults.
Started May 2023, in Lanesville, IN, just outside Louisville, KY, on ancestral lands of the Shawnee & Osage.
Our 4 elements:
FARMING focused on the production and post-harvest handling of an abundance of quality craft materials.
TEACHING: We are connecting to skilled artists and craftspeople interested in teaching at the farm and/or are interested in collaborating for more regionally-produced, craft-quality materials.
PUBLIC: We are inviting people out to the farm to participate in workshops, volunteer days, and other social and educational activities, to foster a sense of place and connection to community.
BIODIVERSITY: We are increasing biodiversity on the landscape through restoration of native plant communities and other farming and land stewardship practices.

Planting a Native Prairie, Part 1
A look at our methods of planting a native plant seed mix to establish a native prairie on our farm in southern Indiana, January 2024.
Funding support for this comes from NRCS-EQIP, which supports land-owning farmers who wish to convert land curretnly in agricultural production to wildlife habitat. Seed obtained from Roundstone Native Seeds in Elkton, KY.

When i saw you havesting green stalks i was like thats too early.. and when you showed the broom with color in it i knew i was right.
What variety of seed did you plant
@ BundleSticksFarm , good evening, I hope this message finds you well. My fiance and I just bought a plot of land and are working towards getting a farm up and running. I'm currently working in Kentucky not far from your farm. I would love to come by and see your brooms and purchase some broom corn seeds to start a crop back home.
