Costco Heated Gloves - Fire Risk Repair!!
มุมมอง 874 หลายเดือนก่อน
This repair is not recommended unless you are familiar with building electronics. Lithium Ion batteries like these can be very dangerous and catch on fire if exposed to high heat or damaged. Please recycle all used/exhausted lithium-ion batteries appropriately. They should not be just tossed in the trash. Thank you! 1. This video lists a basic debugging technique - parts swapping. 2. It also sh...
2024 02 22 Hydroponics Improved Kratky
มุมมอง 815 หลายเดือนก่อน
This grow had three improvements as I work toward my target of planting, forgetting, and harvesting: 1. Increased light spectrum 3000K (warm light), and 6500K (cool light). I believe this increased the green content of my red leaf lettuce, which is more like what is seen in the store. 2. No algae growth by adding the cardboard hack and moving the lights farther away. 3. I was gone for 1 month a...

Kratky Grew Poorly and Not Sure Why
มุมมอง 207 หลายเดือนก่อน
Here, I used minimal coir on top of rocks with a wick down to water to start the seeds. This worked well, but the harvest only weighed 260 grams after 70 days, whereas I previously harvested almost 900 grams over 70 days. The only issue was some algae, which I think was from light that filtered in. My next grow will attempt to fix the issue.
Adding soft close drawers to a cabinet. Part 1 of 2

This video shows adding a soft close drawer to a lower kitchen cabinet. Here is a link to the draw slides that were used: amzn.to/3NbKYFP (please copy/paste in your browser) What's unique here is using a 2"X2" wood "shim" to get around the door hinges. This makes a bit narrower drawer, but I also made a deeper drawer than what the instructions illustrate, so it is possible. Thus, you can make y...

Sleep Number Hack Mattress Repair

I hacked my old Sleep Number queen-size into a king-size by converting the air mattresses into two twins. I used twin mattress covers to pull it off. However, after 5 years, I need a new one. This time, I'm replacing it with a better "all cotton" mattress cover. Copy and paste this link to the twin (extra long) cotton mattress cover that I used: amzn.to/49glvnW

    Where do you buy custom paint color in a spray can?

    • @sapropllc
      @sapropllc 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Allen, thank you for your question. Advance Auto Parts. Other supply stores may offer it too. You'll need you vehicle paint code - look for TH-cam videos on where to find it on your car's chassis label. If the color is off, try shaking the can longer, especially for metalic colors, i.e. silver. Good luck!

    No prep Don't you have to wash and degrease then sanding paste first.

    • @sapropllc
      @sapropllc 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment. Yes, I degreased it with rubbing alcohol. My focus was on painting what was necessary, rather than the whole panel, instead of a complete beginning-to-end process. Maybe that was not the best decision? The scratches were not deep, so I used sandpaper with a fine grit - 800 and up, which came with the polishing kit. Also, I have never used sanding paste. Do you recommend any videos showing how to use it? Thanks again.

    What length bolt for what width shelf ? Thanks

    • @sapropllc
      @sapropllc 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I used 2 lag screws per shelf: Lowes item 59078, 1/2" x 10" Zinc HX Lag $2.45 ea. The shelves are 44" x 2" x 9". I screwed the bolts 3" deep, leaving 7" protruding. I noticed someone mentioned using a stud finder, which I did to find the stud. However, the accuracy of my stud finder was too coarse when the screw alone uses up 30% of the 1.5" width. I wanted to make sure I was very close to the center, so I found the actual edges of the studs with a small drill bit. Also, you can use a mallet to "tweak" the screws level and for alignment, once they are screwed in. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

    Super interesting. I love how you used a headlight kit. I also like how knew you wouldn’t get it perfect, but that it would be good enough. At least from the video it looks passable in terms of a daily driven vehicle with some wear and tear. I could see myself doing this on one of my cars if needed. Cool video.

    how many inches between shelves

    • @sapropllc
      @sapropllc 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Dennis, I used 12", which roughly matched the existing cabinets. I find floating shelves more asthetic than regular cabinets, so it depends on what you put on them. My wife likes to use large 1/2 gallon mason jars that are 10" tall. Anything taller would not work well at 12" shelf spacing. Good luck with your shelves!

    That's pretty slick. A stud finder wouldn't hurt, of course. Was thinking a simple jig made from scrap wood, cardboard (or whatever), would work to make sure your holes line up between the wall and the shelf. Just need to transfer the centers. Straight holes are pretty important and there are other dirt cheap jigs you can make for those, but with those long bolts, it seems like it would fairly easy to bend 'em a little to get things right as long as you get pretty close. Thanks for the great idea, friend.🙂 I've watched several YT videos about floating shelves and most of 'em are more complicated and expensive than I'd like. Cuz let's face it, we're not building a piano here lol

    • @sapropllc
      @sapropllc ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Andrew! I know my video skills and setup need some work, but I wanted to share and help someone if possible. Yes, I could use some jigs, great idea. I did use a cheap stud finder, which can be off by 1/4". Those are fine for hanging pics, but not here! Yes, you can bend the bolts a bit for leveling - a pipe for leverage works. Also, in the past I've added some silicone caulk in spots to make sure it stays put. With this project, it was not needed. I loved "not building a piano", LOL. Happy building!
