Welcome to my channel Killick Fabrication, where I'm trying to document my journey into bicycle frame building. I currently build my frames out of a tiny shop (100 square feet) in Victoria BC, Canada. thanks for watching.
Tig Welding My Bike Packing Frame
In this video I tack and weld up the front triangle of my Bike packing frame. I'm pleased with the progress so far. Thanks for watching.

On this video I finish up the major fitting and filing of my frame build. For me fitting and filing the seat and chain stays is the most difficult part of frame building. Thanks for watching
How I got Started Frame Building
มุมมอง 1.1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
A short documentary my friend filmed of me on how and why I got started frame building. Filmed and edited by Dylan Gallant th-cam.com/channels/oB1Imu_Flp6KFbWzUgHsJA.html
Bikepacking frame EP1

lets try out this TH-cam thing again and start building a bike packing frame. The frame is going to be a rigid steel hard tail made from a mix of 4130 Chromoly and Dedacciai tubing. leave a comment and let me know what you think or if you have any questions. Thanks for watching.

Track Bicycle Frame Build #1
มุมมอง 23K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is the first video in my Track bike frame building series, also my first video ever. In this video I layout, cut, and miter my seat tube to the bottom bracket. Thanks for watching! Matt Instagram: @Killickbikes
Would want that
I am from Hyderabad..Nice video... superb understanding..next video plzz..make videos by mentioning cycle inches..
像你这么做一台可以,批量就完了
Use dedicated saw blades and wire brushes for each metal: mild, stainless, aluminum to prevent weld contamination. Great video! Getting ready to try my hand and this video makes it seem manageable.
Thanks. I’m in the process of setting up a new shop, hoping to build a few aluminum frames over the winter.
Encouraging to hear you sticking with it! has frame building become a viable home business or atleast in the black?
@@post_historic I have never even tried to sell a frame, though I have been thinking about it. We will see how this next year goes, I “need” to build myself a few more frames lol.
Would you be interested in making a steel track frame for me?
I’m not currently building frames for other people, perhaps in the future. I think my next frame building project will probably be a steel track frame.
@@killickfabrication6810 for sure I’ll keep ya in mind
From South Africa. Nice one 👌 👏
I really like what you are doing, keep it up. I don't know if you can teach me how to make bicycle frames. Thanks. Look up to hear from you
hello - awesome channel - i like your vids - and your project: one question: did you really buy the tubes in Italy!? if so: this would be a long long way - from italy to Canada... - - i look forward to hear from you again - Martin
The tubes are made in Italy, I get them from bikefabsupply.com.
awesome - i like your approach and all your ideas of getting started with Frame Building ... keep up your great video-channel!
Thanks, it’s a work in process
hi there - awesome video: where did you buy the tubes!? Are they special tubes - Plz let us know where you purchased them. Many thanks in advance!!! - keep up the great work - it rocks!!!
I get most of my tubes from www.bikefabsupply.com
Bro you are so talented yo 🔥🔥❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks. I’m trying to figure out this framebuilding thing, I’m hoping to start a new frame in the next few months.
how you found that cutting templates?
I get my templates from a program called bikecad, it is the program i use to design my frames.
From Philippines.. very nice
Thanks. I’m hoping to build another one at some point.
Why not invest in a drill with a hole saw a cheap tube notching jig. Sweet work !
I did, end up buying the JD Squared notch master. It’s pretty good, it has a few problems for frame building. I might make a video about it.
How do we know the measurements of the tubes... like inner and outer diameter and length. Should we factor in the weight of the user?? greetings from India.
Thanks for sharing... pretty impressive skill u have.
Where do you get your steel tubes from?
I get most of my tubes from bike fab supply.

De que medidas son los caños
Very good job which way I can be in toch whit you
@killickbikes on Instagram.
Halo, I like your workshop, can you give me design how to build Jig frame ?,
I did not build the jig, it is a brew racing frame jig.
@@killickfabrication6810 very expensive men
Can I get the link jig sale ?

Looking forward to more
Do you build a box for someone?
I recently came across your channel and it’s very inspirational. I’m currently building my first steel road bike with minimal tools, hacksaw, files and torch. I don’t have a proper frame fixture, but made my own fixture using mdf board block of wood.
How to make that paper pattern for cutting?
I use a program called bikecad, for the paper templates.
Hi There 👋🏻 nice video. I just searching around to get an idea and find a good video to build up a bicycle frame. Then found this. No experience at all. But surely will start it from scratch 😅 .
You have to start somewhere lol.
Please tell me which welding machine you are using
I’m using the Lincoln Welders, square wave 200.
love the way you build. hoping you will notice me i have some ideas. great job mate!
Thanks. What kind of ideas do you have?
Nice video. Good explanation of what to do. Sucribed!
Thanks for your vids! You are a real inspiration!!! I needed to see this!
Thanks. It really means a lot to me when I get such positive comments.
Saludos desde Colombia. He disfrutado de la construcción del cuadro en cada uno de los videos. y sobre todo he aprendido bastante.
Awesome series. I hope we get a conclusion soon. Also, do you have the plans for our jig? I am looking to hold one and I notice yours looks very sleek without the use of expensive 8020.
My jig is a brew racing frame jig. I m currently building a 8020 style jig, it’s just a bit slow going at the moment. I lost all the video from this build, but I’m going to film a update video soon.
Where did you get those paper templates for guiding how you join the tubes?
I use a program called bikecad, there is a template feature. That is also the program I use to design my frames.
Good job.
Thanks😃. Things are slowly coming along.
I’m just starting to learn also. My jig is made and welding a lot of practice tubes. I’m not ready for real-time tubes yet.
I am looking forward to the rest of the build. Where are you buying your tubing from?
Thanks. I’m hoping to finish up the build soonish. I get most of my fame building materials from www.bikefabsupply.com
Do you make custom bike frames?
I currently only build frames for myself but I’m hoping to start selling frames in the near future.
@@killickfabrication6810 Ah ok. was looking for someone to build an e-bike frame.
@@josephnightwolf4241 Did you find someone? I'm a trainee bike frame builder, if needs be I can ask my tutors for recommendations.
fking love you channel and videos, i try to building my steel frame and modify old trash hub to fixie with diy locknut, and you work hel me to building my frame
Thanks. it mean a lot to we when people have such positive words, about what I'm trying to do with frame building. What kind of frame are you building?
@@killickfabrication6810 fixie bike of steel, copy the geometry from a old road bike because i like that bike
Looking good 👍
Nice work man
Heck yeah, you’re getting me pumped. I’m “tooling” up right now to do this same thing. Is that the brew frame fixture? Worth the investment?
that is the brew fame jig, it works well for what it is. If you plan on building more "road" style bikes the jig would be fine, but the jig is not long enough for modern geo mountain bikes. I'm currently in the process of gathering all the material for a new frame jig, it will be an 8020 style frame jig like the pithy bikes one. I'm planning on making a few videos about it.
Thanks for the video, nice work!
It's great to say you build your own frame , rather than buying them. I love the hole prosses of building frames. Keep up the great work.
thanks, I really do like building my own frames. What is you favorite part about building frames?
@@killickfabrication6810 it's the brazing that I like,
Nice work! :)
Thanks! 😄 I had some help lol
Great video! Found your channel recently, keep it going!
thanks for the support. I have a few builds planned for this year, that I'm looking forward too.
Next video I still waiting
I have lost all the video from the track bike build, but I'm currently building a bike packing frame. I'm hoping to have the next video out soon.
@@killickfabrication6810 I'd love to see a quick wrap up vid on that project, despite the tech failure...just something to show the finished project to close the loop!
awesome vid. what frame jig do u use?
is it realistic to build a bike frame with disk brakes using this hand filing miter method? thanks!
@@frakafrocka You can definitely build a disk brake bike using this method. I might make a video about the tools I use, and my tiny shop space. I'm currently working on a disk brake Bike packing frame build series.
Is there going to be a part 3?
Relic 422. Yes but my computer had a bit of a freak out and is no longer working. I’m working on getting the video footage off the hard drive. I had part 3 done and the. It crashed.
Nice video! Edited to see your progress. Always wanted to build an aluminum frame
Tim Mallard, you should build one, it is such a fun project.
@@killickfabrication6810 I've made a few steel bikes and I have my Aluminum welding skills at a point where I can do it. Maybe this summer ill have time. IG @ducky4546
Very cool!!!
