This is so beautiful, Draco and Snape are the most misunderstood in this movie/book. To be honest, for me Draco is actually the kindest and sweetest boy. It’s just the way he was brought up, and he was forced to as well.

Draco needed a redemption arc. He got done dirty. Yeah, their sons became friends etc but all the signs were there for Draco to have his day and side with Harry but it never happened - and it's a little disappointing, especially considering deleted scenes and the fact he was lowering his wand to Dumbledore, didn't snitch out Harry to Bellatrix etc. Imagine the chills if Draco stood down voldemort, even died to protect Harry. That would shake people to this day but instead, he turned tail when it mattered the most and defected with his family- with virtually no explanation as to how they were allowed to live.. Imo he's the only character in Harry Potter who's 'ending' made no sense. Even Neville faced voldemort ffs. That could have inspired Draco even a little.. I get it was possibly a future setup for later novels but honestly I (and a lot of people) thought Draco would come around or go full evil. The markings were there. It's like the deleted scene at the Dursley's where Dudley shows respect to Harry- that should have happened too.. Why was Harry Potter so full of tragic characters that seemingly ended so abruptly? It's not like they were only there to be a '1 book red-shirt' kind of character.. Cedric Diggory *cough cough* I'd also like to say I don't think JKR is a poor writer, I just wish these characters either had more exposition to their decisions or greater reasons to hate them. I just feel sorry for most of them who genuinely suffered - yet we're supposed to dislike. Even Snape was redeemed. Rant over - and no. I'm still not over it after all these years!

I won't say he was evil at the beginning, but he surely was a spoiled brat. He bullied everyone and especially those who weren't pure bloods, as he was raised to be a Bloodist. I don't think he would possibly turn soo redeemable if he wasn't forced into being a death eater, because it's only then when he realized that he was nothing like his father. I think only Narcissa and Dumbledore understood him, that man felt bad for Voldemort even at a point knowing how cruel his past was..we can't defend that he was a bully, but we can't straight out call him evil for trying to protect his family..it really shows that he was a Slytherin, the brave Gryffindor Harry could die for others, but he wasn't that brave. He feared death, and his own dad risked his life for his foul loyalty. There can't be a more disheartening point of view.
