It all depends in which state you live in. I live in Pennsylvania so I'm buying Basswood from my local hardwoods supplier. Another option is to use a website for woodcarvers www.woodcraft.com on the website you can check if they have a store in your area where you can buy it. If you are in my area close to Philadelphia I can sell you Basswood for small carvings.

​@Zedthatholdsbread Yes I started as a hobby when I was 11 years old but for last 35 years this is my profession my small business I do sculpture, wood carving, antiques restoration reproduction, furniture repair, wooden hand sign carving. This year I started posting on a TH-cam my work I should have do that 20 years ago🙄

I saw your wood spirits on your channel. Good job, very cool. You already have a talent, so it will be easy for you to start chainsaw carving. You could start actually from chainsaw carving the wood spirits. To start, you're going to need it 2 chainsaws, one heavy duty with a 16-inch bar and the second smaller chainsaw with an 8-in - or 12-inch carving bar. To do the finish carving details, you are just going to use the same power tools you are already using. I subscribed to your channel to learn how to carve the wood spirits.

Myślisz, że lakier poliuretanowy to dobra bariera ochronna przed wodą? Nie stosowałem jeszcze takiego lakieru, więc dlatego pytam. Warto wiedzieć na przyszłość😉

Tego typu naprawy robię co pewien czas dla klientów poza starymi krzyżami naprawiam też stare rzeźbione zegary. W 1996 wyrzeźbiłem największy krzyż z Jezusem dla kościoła. krzyż miał ponad 4 m Jezus około 2 metrów. Zrobiłem post który można widzieć na "community"

Dziękuję za komentarz. w latach 90tych większości robiłem rzeźby dla kościołów i robiłem też napisy rzeźbione dla biznesów restauracji doktorów . Teraz większość i naprawiam antyki i zacząłem coś nowego rzeźby robione piłą taśmową
