Fixed my FOB. I wonder if the battery needed replacement in the first place. It started fading and being unreliable. This fixed it right away. It was a Mazda FOB but worked the same way.

Man this work for my 2001 ford mustang. I replaced the battery and the key fob did not want to work. So I lifted the 2 metal things that contact the battery and it worked. Thank you.

This worked for me, but the plastic tabs broke off when I lifted them up. Anybody know if that will be a problem?

My unlock is locking and my lock is dead. Please help. When i press the unlock it locks doors and no other button is working but the unlock to lock the car

Does anyone have an idea what to do if the lights on the keyfob work but arent registering when the buttons are pressed? Like i can press the buttons and the red light shows. Battery is new ect. But it doesnt register to my crv anymore. I have a 2019 crv ex

Worked on my 2013 Accord Sport key fob that wasn’t working. The fob is a different type but I still took your principle and bent the metal battery holder more inward so that it would “hug” the battery more. And then Voila!!!

Idk if it have to do with a worn oring thinning out but I lifted the contacts decently enough to spring a contact and I bought me a pair of new Energizer 2025 cr still won't come on wtf pcr of crap

Having same problem with a 2004 civic fob. I lift the metal contacts a bit higher and light won't come on still

Nailed it! Blame Honda for making these key fobs a complete design disaster. For my 2021 CRV key fobs the cheap plastic they're made of completely crumbled upon the first attempt to open. Then the construction within of the actual buttons, which are loose like legos, is infuriating as you watch them pour out onto the floor and bounce into hidden corners. Finally this problem with the tiny plastic tabs that are supposed to hold in the battery, but instead they also crumble at the slightest touch and prevent the battery from making contact with the metal strip? Absolute garbage design Honda, I had several Toyota key fobs before this, never had any of these problems. May sound petty and insignificant but this is a huge negative that makes me rethink my purchase.
