Hi, I am currently a contractor looking to start a cleaning business on my own and I have either contractors or employees run the routes. My question, can you tell me what your route schedule look like, how many houses, and what is your cost plan for employees? What should I be charging initially to cover full-time or part-time employees/ contractors, and be able to start another route? Or, do you have videos in your archives that cover these issues? Thank you for your time. I have learned a lot already by watching some of your videos.

Hi, I just discovered this challenge. Thank you for sharing all these valuable ideas. I have a question Should I create a LLC for my new cleaning company?
I found you on Facebook and bought your course. You're truly amazing the way to put everything in the course. Thank you very much!
Great beginner video. My mom already has an unregistered business but we're considering registering it for taxes and stuff. So the thing I don't know is other than starting an LLC what else do we exactly need to do?
Hi, It’s great that your mom is ready to take the next step with her residential cleaning business. Registering the business can bring many benefits, especially when it comes to taxes and legal protection. Apart from forming an LLC, there are a few other important considerations you may want to keep in mind. Firstly, make sure the business name your mom has chosen is unique and not already in use by another company. You can easily check for name availability by contacting your local business registry or Secretary of State office. Specific requirements for registration may vary depending on your location. I recommend reaching out to an accountant for guidance. Many accountants are more than happy to answer basic questions at no charge. Contact a couple of local accountants and ask about the steps to register her cleaning business and inquire about any associated costs. Another important aspect is obtaining liability insurance. This will provide protection for your mom's business in the event of accidents, property damage, or any unforeseen circumstances. To determine the best coverage, I suggest obtaining a couple of quotes from insurance professionals. Once the business is registered, open a separate business bank account. Keeping personal and business finances separate is essential for maintaining accurate financial records. I wish your mom all the best with her residential cleaning business!
Thank you for your video! Question, how do you make daily profit (how much does employee get paid?)and how much do I take home.
Hi, you're most welcome. Thank you for your question. Determining how much you would take home as a residential cleaning business owner involves considering several factors. To set your pricing, consider the size of the house, the type of cleaning required (maintenance or deep cleaning), and the rates charged by other cleaning companies in your area. This will help you remain competitive and cover your expenses, such as cleaning supplies and transportation, while still generating a profit. Employee wages in the residential cleaning industry can vary depending on employee's role, experience, and the local job market. You'll want to ensure that you offer a competitive wage to attract and retain quality employees, whether hourly or based on a per-job basis, while complying with labor laws. To calculate how much you take home, you'll need to subtract your business expenses (such as supplies, advertising costs, and insurance) and employee expenses from your total revenue. For more accurate information about employee wages and a detailed calculation of your take-home income, it's best to consult an accountant. They can help you develop a financial plan tailored specifically to your house cleaning business. The following video shows an example of how much you can make when you get into multiple homes and teams: th-cam.com/video/D2kmSs4yyao/w-d-xo.html

Why is it important to ask about square footage? Thank you.
Hi, It's important to ask for the square footage so you can estimate how long it will take you to clean the home. The homes condition will also play an important role in determining the amount of time it may take to clean. If you're providing a cleaning quote, I recommend giving an estimation range, since the time required may vary depending on the size and condition of the home. Hope this helps :)
This was very detailed compared to what I've been hearing. Thank you! Great channel 😊
You're most welcome :) Have a great day!
Hi. For how long, how many months do I have acess to see the course if I buy it? Thank you❤
Hi, there is no time frame. You would have lifetime access. 😁
I've been doing this for awhile but I have found that I am unable to save each of my client's info. Every time they book I have to re-type in their info. Any way around this problem?
Hi, Google Calendar has a repeat option. It's super easy and can help you stay organized with recurring clients. Here's how to use the repeat option in Google Calendar: 1. Open Google Calendar and create a new event by selecting a time or clicking on the "+" button in the top left corner. 2. Enter your client's name, appointment time, address, and any other details. 3. Click on the "Does not repeat" dropdown menu, located just below the date and time fields. 4. Select Custom, then select the frequency at which the appointment will repeat, such as weekly, biweekly, or monthly. 5. Click "Save" to create the recurring appointment. By using the repeat option in Google Calendar, you can easily schedule recurring appointments with your clients without having to manually enter their information each time. I hope this helps :)

Can I hire contractors instead of w2 employers if I do have a Sole Proprietor company?
Absolutely! As a Sole Proprietor, you can hire independent contractors rather than W-2 employees. Remember that if you pay your independent contractors more than $600 during the year, you'll need to file your 1099 form at the end of the year.
Excent content, Im just starting to form a cleaning agency
Thank you so much :) Congratulations!!!
What do you mean by cleaning route?
Hey there! Thank you for your question. When I mention cleaning routes, I'm referring to having to clean multiple homes using a team of two cleaners. The idea is that each team is responsible for cleaning a set number of homes that they're assigned to.
Thank you for the lessons. I'm from South Africa and some items are named differently. Would you please show pictures of the items. Thank you
Hi, Thank you for asking about cleaning products. It really comes down to personal preference and what works best for you. Personally, I'm not a big fan of harsh chemicals, so I tend to use more eco-friendly and green products. They still get the job done but in a gentler way. I'd be happy to put together a video with some of my favorite cleaning products.
If the home is 1600 sqft and it's a townhome with 3 floors, wouldn't the basement already be part of the cleaning tasks?
Hi, thank you for your question :) Since we're talking about a stacked townhome with three floors and a total square footage of 1600, it's safe to assume that the customer would want to have the main floor included in the cleaning. I'm guessing you are entering and exiting through the first floor which would probably include a powder bathroom as well.
I am an incoming university student trying to make extra income for myself since I start in September. I love your videos, they give great tips and I have been binging them! I wanted to ask, is it realistic to start cleaning houses on my own? I don't really know anyone around me who is willing to start a company with a 19 year old... plus any cleaners.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad that you are finding the information helpful. Starting a cleaning business on your own is a very realistic way to earn a nice income :) To ensure that you are operating legally, obtain a business license, liability insurance, and understand your tax obligations. Consider contacting accounting offices to ask any questions. For example, in Ontario, Canada, you may not be required to register for GST/HST or collect taxes from your customers if your annual sales remain below $30,000. Once you have determined what type of cleaning services you want to offer and your pricing strategy, it's important to market yourself effectively. Utilize social media, car magnets, business cards, and word of mouth to promote your services. I also have a helpful video on my channel, "Where can I advertise my cleaning business for free," which you may find helpful: th-cam.com/video/Tns2bsQMNkE/w-d-xo.html When looking for cleaners to work with you, posting job listings on online job boards is a good option. It's always a good idea to interview a few candidates before making a final decision. Congratulations on starting your own cleaning business, and I wish you all the best!
How much should we charge for dishes?
To be honest, I don't typically include dishes, though some cleaners do. The price for dishwashing services depends on the amount of time required. For example, if you estimate that you can complete the dishes in 30 minutes and charge $30 per hour, you can add a flat rate of $15 to the final cost. However, dishwashing can be unpredictable in terms of time and effort required. Some clients may only leave a few items in the sink, while others may have days' worth of dishes that need to be washed. I didn't include it for that reason. Since I have to keep a schedule and have other customers expecting me to arrive by a specific time, it's difficult to predict how long the dishes will take since it depends on the number of dishes and their condition. Discussing and agreeing on a fair price is important. You may choose to charge by the hour, per task or negotiate a flat rate.
Thanks for the advice
You're most welcome :)
I LooOve your videos 🙏🙌🏻Do you have any tip how to train the cleaners and where? Thank you for everything ❤️
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. When it comes to training cleaners, a helpful approach is providing the cleaner with a written list of steps to follow, demonstrating how to perform each task, and explaining why it's important. It's also a good idea to allow the cleaner to practice each task and provide feedback to help them improve and perform the tasks correctly. Regarding the location for training, I recommend training on-site so that the cleaner can become familiar with the home they'll be working in. This will help them understand the home layout and cleaning requirements. Here is a link to a video that you may find helpful. 😊 th-cam.com/video/AtkOJhFZGcA/w-d-xo.html
This is the best cleaning business couch i saw in last weeks! And i saw a lot! The most informative, clear and priceless information!
Thank you so much! I'm glad that you are finding the information helpful :)
FYI, My first house cleaning was horrible. That's where I learned "First Is Worst." I know that any time I start something new, the first time is gonna suck. I just have to remember it's not me, it's just the way the universe is set up I guess. I don't want to hire people with experience (and haven't). I want to train my new employees to work my system. I'm enjoying listening to your videos. Thanks!
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words. I don’t think anyone forgets their first house cleaning experience. 😁Trying new things is how we grow. I can see where you are coming from. Cleaners with a lot of experience may have habits that are hard to change. I found cleaners with no experience can also have their challenges. You almost want someone with some basic skills and, as you said, train them to work your system. How many routes are you looking to grow your cleaning business to?
At what point do you send a team of 3 or 4? Your videos are amazing by the way!
Thank you so much :) You may want to consider a team of 3-4 when cleaning larger homes and providing a deep cleaning service. A larger team may be necessary if a client requests the interior oven, fridge, cabinets, windows, and baseboards. However, it's important to charge the client accordingly since your expenses will be higher due to having a larger team. In my experience, using a team of 4 cleaners can be costly, and managing more people can be challenging. It is a little much when you have a smaller home to clean and come in with 4 cleaners, especially if the client is home. It gets too busy :) I usually only have a team of 3 when adding additional cleaning routes and would have the additional 3rd cleaner while they were being trained. Ultimately, the decision of how many cleaners to send will depend on the specific cleaning requirements of the job. I hope this helps :)
Hi. Glad I found your channel. Quick question. I'm just starting out and I want to make sure I'm not selling myself short from the start. I list my Airbnb cleaning price starting at $99 & up for a standard & $149 & up for deep. I already include inside windows, walls & baseboards, inside cabinets, fridge & oven for the deep clean. Is it too low based on average. Thanks for responding.
Hi, thank you for your question :) It's difficult to determine if your pricing is too low without knowing your local market, the average home size and the competition in your area. I recommend researching your local market to see what other Airbnb cleaning services charge for their standard and deep cleaning services. You can check their websites, read their reviews or even call and ask for their pricing. This will give you a better idea of what the average rates are in your area. You will need to consider your expenses, such as the cost of your cleaning supplies, gas, insurance, taxes and your time, to ensure you're covering your costs and making a profit. Once you have a better understanding of the market and your expenses, you can adjust your pricing accordingly. Will you only be focused on Airbnb? When you start having regular clients, you won't have the open availability that Airbnb owners expect unless you hire cleaners to help you. I suggest charging by the hour for the first deep cleaning so that you can factor in how long the cleaning will take and then provide a flat rate. When first starting, it is difficult to gauge how long it will take, especially if you include the interior oven, fridge, cabinets, windows and walls. These additional services alone can take over 2 hours. Remember that it's important to be competitive, but you also want to ensure you're covering your costs and making a profit. I hope this helps, and best of luck with your Airbnb cleaning business :)
@@housecleaninguniversity I'm in Miami gardens Florida if that could help with the question. I tried researching but everywhere the competitors just ask to get a quote as a customer
@@stress2wealth Hi, if you're researching your competitors, you can start by contacting them via phone or their online quote form. When you do this, it's important to put yourself in the position of your ideal customer. (you have to pretend you are a customer when talking to them) For example, if you're looking to clean a 1000 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 1 bath Airbnb, you can position yourself as a customer looking for pricing. Mention that you have a 1000 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 1 bath Airbnb and would like a quote for cleaning the interior oven, fridge, cabinets, baseboards, and walls. Ask the company for their pricing for a standard cleaning as well. To better understand what your competitors are charging, you should reach out to at least three different companies for a quote. I hope this information is helpful!

Will our business still pop up when people search cleaners on Google if clean isn't in our name?
Hi, Thank you for your message. Yes, your business can still appear in search results when people search for cleaners on Google, even if the word "clean" is not in your business name. Google's search algorithm considers various factors when displaying search results, such as the content and the keywords used on your website. Optimizing your website with relevant keywords, including "cleaners" and your location, increases the chance that your business appears in search results. It is also important to create a Google Business Profile. This can help your business appear in local search results.
Awesome video! These questions should really be asked. Also, cleaning business is one of the most sensitive businesses as its nature works in the most private places of people and businesses. That is why screening potential cleaners should be one of the priorities. Aside from these questions, it's good to conduct a background check on the applicant to know more about them. You wouldn't want to come across someone who has bad records that can put your business at risk. One wrong move can affect your cashflow and client retention.
Thank you for your positive feedback on the video! Very good point, I completely agree that screening potential cleaners is crucial for any cleaning business, as it not only protects the business but also ensures the safety and privacy of clients.
@@housecleaninguniversity Nice to know that this resonates with you! We actually work with multiple cleaning businesses and one of the things they are more cautious about is the hiring process, that is why they use background check and criminal records search as part of their screening method.
What about vicious dogs like pitbulls and Rottweilers and German Shepherds what do you do about those kind of animals
Hi, thank you for your question. Cleaning a home where a vicious dog is present can be difficult and potentially dangerous. If you do not feel safe, you should leave. No amount of money is worth putting yourself in a dangerous situation. I have only come across one situation where the homeowner had an aggressive dog, and he would growl whenever we got close to him. One time, he got close and lunged at my leg. He didn't bite, but he was clearly sending me a message. The homeowner was home, and I asked her to crate her dog. I explained that I did not feel comfortable and the last thing I wanted was for one of my cleaners to be bitten. She had no problem doing it; from that day forward, she would crate the dog before we entered. Many homeowners have dogs, and most of them are very friendly. There are some homes that I couldn't wait to clean because it meant I got to see my furry friend. If you are cleaning a home for the first time and the homeowner is not home, I suggest meeting with the homeowner and dog before the cleaning. Ask the homeowner for the dogs name and greet the dog when you enter. There were many homes where I would ask the homeowner to leave dog treats by the entrance so I could greet the dog and give them a treat upon arrival. If you are nervous around dogs, you should ask the potential customer if they own one before agreeing to clean their home. You don't want to waste their time or yours if you choose not to clean for customers with dogs. If you are ever in a situation where a dog shows aggressive behaviour, leave and let the homeowner know about the situation.
Hi I have question I’m starting cleaning business but my concern would it be problem for me getting residential being man and alone
Hi Giorgio, Congratulations on starting your cleaning business! Will you be focusing on house cleaning? Or are you looking to clean offices, businesses, and buildings? It may be a little more difficult (not impossible) if you are only focused on residential house cleaning and you are a male working alone. Most people prefer a team with a mix of females and males. To increase your chances of success, focus on a specific niche market for example office cleaning. Reach out to potential clients, such as property managers and business owners, to introduce your business and offer your services. Networking can help you find new clients and grow your business. Offer excellent customer service and high-quality work. By delivering exceptional service, you can build a reputation for reliability and professionalism, which can help you attract new clients and increase your chances of success.
I’m a guy that’s been doing house cleaning for decades. On my own at the start. people are not looking necessarily whether you’re a man or a woman they’re looking for someone they can trust and feel comfortable having in their home. If you come across as such you won’t have any troubles getting jobs. 😊😊
Hi I was wondering I’m starting cleaning business Giorgio’ Janitorial Services LLC hopefully by January. My question is true hiring man working alone would hard for me find work ?

Thank you for your videos. I have owned my business for almost 11 years. Such a great business! I'm solo. Over 100,000 grand a year.
Thank you for sharing your success with your business! It's great to hear that you have been able to achieve such success as a solo entrepreneur. Starting and running a business can be a challenging and rewarding experience, and it's wonderful to see that your hard work and dedication has paid off. If you have any tips or advice for others who are looking to start their own businesses, I'm sure they would be happy to hear them!
This is inspiring to me since I am just starting out solo! I am worried about cleaning large houses because I don't want to waste their time and money (but often these people have the most money to give away for a cleaning service), how big are the houses you usually clean solo? (in sqft if possible)
@Elitza Nikolova I've learned that the bigger homes aren't always worth it. If you can get a gang of monthly clients 1200 to 2000 sq ft, you can easily do 3 a day. This biggest home I clean is 8,000 sq ft & I'm there weekly from 9-5.
@@Dmarie1078 That makes sense! I was thinking of advertising to huge houses, until I realized there is no way I am cleaning all that on my own lol. Two questions if you don't mind me asking; 1. How long approximately does it take you to clean houses form 1200-2000 sq ft and 2. Did you ever advertise with flyers, and found that it was helpful to gain clients?
@Elitza Nikolova I don't advertise. Word of the mouth is the best way. I highly recommend finding a retirement community. It takes me about 2 to 3 hours depending on the home & client. Get 3 of those a day at $150 a clean. You can ask any questions. I want everyone to succeed!
i say their worth it if your starting off to get your name out same as paying for marketing to promote atleast this way u prove ur business n get something from it
keep grinding
