There are 3 decent lakes from 30-45 minutes from Phoenix in Roosevelt, Canyon, and Saguaro that offer plenty of shoreline for fishing, boat tours, water skiing, and camping. Lake Pleasant just north of Phoenix is also popular.

I lived in both. I have family in Phoenix but when I left Los Angeles I picked Vegas. The reasons where its about 5 degrees cooler on any given day. If it 115 in Phoenix its probably 110 in Vegas. You might not think that's a lot but, its a lot given how many days Phoenix has over 100 degrees. Also its way easier to get around town in Vegas with shorter commutes. The style of houses is much different. Phoenix has more 1 story ranch homes with bigger lots than Las Vegas. Most Vegas homes seem close to one another and are split level. But the main reason I picked Vegas is it just seemed livelier, taxes were lesser, cost of living a little cheaper, and its easier to access to CA if you want to go the San Diego for example. Either city blows LA out of the water. The Vegas airport is easy to get to and use. But I agree both are great places to live. I sacrificed sports over LA but since moving the NHL, NFL and Formula 1 have begun, The A's will take 3 years to move but the facilities will be excellent when completed. And the Sphere is the best modern concert venue in the world .

Diggin' all the HB shout outs, guys! 🌞🌊😎🤘 As a So Cal/OC native we have always just accepted the "paradise tax" as the price the we have to pay to live where most people dream of vacationing. But it really is getting to be a bit too much to bear these past few years. And unfortunately there's no sign of it letting up any time soon. Which is why we reached out to Mike a couple months ago to start looking into Vegas as our next possible home. Another great video, Moody Olson Team! Thanks!!! 😉👍

Great video! As someone who was basically raised in Hawaii, (father was in the Navy and retired out of Pearl Harbor) I can for sure say that it has grown to become a very expensive state to live in. My parents bought their first home in 2002 for under $300,000 and it was shy under 1500 sqft. Their home now, which also happens to be a 2 minute drive from the previous one, with a decently sized backyard and much more space with a little over 2000 sqft cost 1.2 million when they bought it. Luckily, my parents still have a very steady job and income to be able to sustain such a nice property. I moved from Hawaii to Las Vegas with my wife just a couple months ago and while definitely a climate change, we do enjoy the lower cost of living in comparison to back home. Plus, Las Vegas has been known to be the 9th island of Hawaii with a lot of locals moving/visiting here! Definitely not a fan of the rising costs to purchase a home here in Vegas as I do plan to buy one within the next 5 years and I'd prefer not to pay Hawaii housing prices for a 2000 sqft home in Vegas but we definitely shall see what the next few years brings to the Vegas housing market.

Thanks for prcing locals out of the housing market. Now it takes a six figure income to qualify for a mortgage with most houses starting at $400,000+. So middle income locals with incomes under $75,000 are priced out. Only wealthy out of town buyers find Southern Nevada affordable. Sure, real estate agents have done very well since 2020, but they have to know there's lots of anger over the cost of houses and even rentals.

Since the backyard for the model home isn't indicative of what you would get should you purchase in that community we chose not to show it.

I plan on moving to Vegas this year. North west is where I wanna move. Big time golfer. What are the normal golf prices for 18 w/ cart? Just trying to get a general idea. Here in Michigan, I’m used to paying $40-60 but I figured NW Vegas might be a tiny bit more expensive

We typically pay between $50 and $100 with a cart depending on the course, day of week, and time of the round. There are plenty of more expensive courses but the courses we play are quite nice and reasonably priced. I would recommend looking into Painted Desert, Angel Park, and Las Vegas Golf Club.
