I set up this channel to answer any questions that bus drivers have about school bus operation. I am a school bus driver instructor, 19a certified examiner, and lead mechanic. I receive questions almost every day from drivers and trainees who are either unsure or just curious about how a bus operates. If I receive the same question several times I will make a video explaining the operation of the topic. I currently have videos explaining pre-trip inspections, brakes, wheelchair lifts, seat belts, and more.

First Electric Bus
มุมมอง 170หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a quick first look at our first electric bus and how to charge it. The charger used in this video is our shop level 2 charger. Drivers will not use this charger, but the charging process will be similar. I will make another video explaining the level 3 chargers that our drivers will be using.

2 and a half hours for 30% , how much time does it take to fill a tank up by 30% with diesel ?
As a firefighter, I'd like to recommend you invite your local fire department(s) to check out the electric & diesel busses. Or you could go there during a traing drill. It's good to know where to cut or not to cut for an accident extrication. The battery disconnect points should be explained and could be labeled on the bus too.
That's really cool. I wish my Fire Department had something like this to manage our MUCH SMALLER fleet that always needs work.
Please keep making lots of videos, especially of this EV. Do you know if this uses a heat pump for the HVAC? Could this be plugged into a public level 3 charger if on a field trip or theres a problem with the power or charging equipment at the bus garage? Do you have a 120 volt adapter plug for slow charging overnight or in an unforseen situation? Can you do an acceleration comparison experiment between this and a diesel bus or even a short bus if this is really quick? Something that's definitely not a drag race if the bosses are watching.
This was so helpful I must say never thought I would lose power with my wheelchair lift ❤❤❤❤
Did u know the roof hatch can be used when the bus is flipped on its side
Short and simple,I love it.
EVERY bus and truck garage needs one of these please
Excellent job, Dan! Not sure why these buses didn’t come with that light from the manufacturer knowing that NYS DOT requires it.
What is with the one bus that has yellow roof when all the rest have white
It was never painted white and we didn't have a need to repaint it. It dose stand out though.
@@danboyea9409 wonder why they only ordered one bus with yellow roof
How did you managed to go inside this bus wash?
Nice job Dan!
I think that gauge defines "unempty".
I'm replacing a hatch. How do you disarm the alarm?
how much do you guys charge?
They should have stayed with the Air Parking system like they had in 1997. Either keep it Air Brakes or Air Parking, none of this crap hydraulic/electronic mess
This is so smart, what a cool invention
I think this is in Alberta,Canada
Our school district keeps their buses undercover to prevent this problem
That looks so satisfying
Satisfying
THEY ARE GENIUSES
That’s satisfying af
They should have these at truck stops in the winter! Never seen this before
I expected the bus to do donuts, I'm disappointed
The more you know
Bruh they should just make a sharp turn to ge it off duhhh
Fye
Bruh he bald now
Sorry kids, no more snow days.
gubbildy gop gop, gloopidy gloo? gub flubbidy gub flub glubbidy goo
Not bad.
Every trucking yard in the north should have this. I’m so tired of getting pelted by icy snow on the highway from drivers not cleaning their roof.
Sounds like you just volunteered yourself to climb up on top of every semi trailer and sweep them off every time it snows. Just remember, those trailers are 13'6 high and have no access ladders and no rails to keep you from falling off. They also can't hold the weight of anyone standing on them, and they are usually quite slippery when wet. So i guess you have three options. 1 get busy sweeping. 2 get your checkbook out and buy this system for every truck or trailer company in the north. Or 3 quit your belly aching! Choose wisely...
@@americanpatriot3638 it is illegal to not clean your vehicle anyway
@@justanotheraviator2357 i know this. But tell that to the guy who doesn't clean the snow off the top of his prius! Or the guy that only scrapes a tiny hole in his windshield to see out of.
Cool
Cool
When this gonna be blessed by the yt algorithm idk
Now it seems
Cool
really neet to see
Or just... have a covered garage
Why would a school district get a covered garage just to keep snow off the bus
@@littletikesdrugmoblie it's not just for snow
Does your company have a covered garage??? We have over 300 buses at our company... I couldn't imagine the sizr
@@JonathanLong my school has 2 covered garages. We have 13 buses
Because...cost?
Yeah if we get that much snow down here in TN, we gonna shut down for the whole winter lmao
Should i be concerned 😦 lol 😂
OOOOOOOOO DIVEUOS
Don't forget to put some red reflectors on the rear bumper.
Can you put a spray underneath for salt removal on the chassis?
Yes, it dose spray the under side of the bus. When watching the first video you can see the under side of the bus being sprayed.
They really look bald even when they get down to 6 or 7, which is strange since that's what many car tires have new and look fine.
simple but brilliant.
Wow, I had no idea that's what 4/32 looked like. 😳 I'd have thought that was a bald tire. I'm glad you guys provide us with new tires long before it gets to that point.
More like a rinse off
That is the most professionally converted bus I've seen yet.
Hey, ever thought of reviewing the white converted BE300 bus that was in the background of the video? Would love to see that.
Haha i noticed that to. Looks like a 10 ft v plow on the darn thing! I think this guy is serious about his buses!! Lov to see it too
