Loved your comments. You are so witty! Thanks for the great video!
I'm not the target audience for the show but I like to watch a variety so gave it a go. I thought the show was going to be about how perfect the 2 main characters were but in the end it was actually a very realistic portrayal of how such lauded people can become selfish and uncaring. I think Rory's decline was simply always there as she never faced consequences for her actions so can't really pinpoint at what moment she declined.
I think the netflix series one day is definitely better 💯 ❤❤
I put Logan at 12:)
That’s still lenient for grand theft boating.
That smug “yes your honor.” Uuugggghhhh. Good for that judge. I also love when Mitchum Huntzberger tells her she sucks.
there overly feminine and its gross
Guys The day before wedding Dean was dreaming about Rory. He shouldn’t have married to Lindsey not because she was “too simple”, but because he was not ready. The stuff about Lindsey is just Rory jealousy and nothing more. They all just young and dumb
It stands to reason that a pick-me girl’s fantasy is to have so many men falling over themselves to be picked by the girl.
You are Georgous 💋 Incredibly Beautiful and Sexy Lady ♥️ Thank You God for the Blessings from Heaven And God! Lovely 🌹🌹🌹 Incredible Angel 😇 from Heaven And God! ❤❤❤💋💋💋🥰🥰🥰
She's unbearable for so many reasons, her laugh is actually the least annoying thing about her.
No, I definitely thought he was creepy as a teenager.
Rooted in misogyny? Ugh, it’s rooted in insecurity and a lack of love, tuning one into, instead, the power drive.
I always thought that her community was as large reason for Rory’s immaturity and ego. They all worship her for no reason
I think its when they're at the dance competition an she only cares about jess
Honestly, with all the trash on tv and movies today, this is child's play. And to take things a little more seriously and real - this has happened. Think about it, there have been sperm donors who's children have met and fallen in love because the agency did not responsibly disperse the sperm. It's a mixed-up, weird world we live in, so this movie almost (almost) seems ahead of its time.
Feminism in a nutshell: a woman's choice... *as long as it's the right one!*
Instant like and subscribe!!! Great video, and hey were the same age!!
We all can agree that Rory was a very bad kid, but she had a fair share of issues so I think people should get off her back
June came out when I was a young-ish child. I remember loving their creative soundtrack & how simple & straight to the point the movie was. It was very interesting & refreshing at the time. It’s truly a classic & Elliot Page is great.
Also asp didn't just stop at saying the show had no meaning. It was a reflection of her hatred for millennials and how awful asp apparently is too
It's white western feminism in a nutshell. Which is an oxymoron in itself
300 hours in 6 months is a lot but definitely not undoable. 24 weeks in 6 months, which means you need to get 12.5 hours each week. Actually not a bad punishment when you want to drive your point home.
I didn’t watch this movie when it first came out I was like 20 when I saw it for the first time so I always thought he was strange.
They are not pick me. But they can be judgmental, they are human after all
What i feel watching the show was also like expecting a fake audience laugh and clap at every sentence, like in old comedy show, sitcoms. Every Time, everything they say is supposed to be noticed and i found it exhausting to be honest.
How else would it be looked at ngl
With a little life experience this movie would be just right. I really think perspectives would be different depending on the viewers ' age bracket
Ok, I was going through the comments to see if I was the only one thinking this and apparently I am, so im just gonna say it: This judge is being a bitch. And im not talking about the sentence (idk law or if its a fair or unfair sentence, although the scene makes it look like its very rare an severe), Im talking about how she takes this as an oppotunity to "teach her something". Come on lady, you dont know this person, dont try to parent her. Just deal the sentence and be done.
this is so bad it's almost good❤
"I have to take a job" Why? Your grandparents provide everything for you, your own pool house, home cooked meals, fancy clothes, maids, why do you HAVE TO take a job?? 😂😂😂😂😂
He was so creepy He would have 100 did something if she gave any hints
100% agree with this video. Also I agree with some of the comments above that the whole town/her mom telling her she was perfect her whole life spoiled her. I have a sister who her entire life was told she was perfect too and she's incredibly entitled and a narcissist. She's made many mistakes yet my mom never holds her accountable for them. It's not good parenting!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
i adore this show with my whole heart, but the gilmore girls are very pick me (not in the sense of trying to not be feminine, but the whole ‘belittling others to seem better than them’ energy RADIATES off of them, especially rory. i feel like they were written to be the girls who are ideal to the male eye. and how they treated other women in the show was very weird, like rory shaming the ballerinas weight and lorelai making a dig at sookie for not going on as many dates as her rubbed me the wrong way. and the way they treated the blonde characters were so weird - like lindsay was cheated on, trash talked for wanting a simple life and not working (when rory didn’t work at all either LOL) and all because she dated a guy who rory happened to date AND fell out with, the show still tried to make her the bad guy. a lot of the “bad” characters in gilmore girls were blonde too, like shane (jess’s “gf”) and paris, i also think that sherry counts because she bleached her hair at one point. i feel like rory and lorelai are kind and genuine people, but they can be very “i’m so different to the standard girl” at times..
I really don't understand where the writers were going with Rory. She goes through the opposite of development, she becomes a worse person every season, yet, she is not written as an antiheroine, we still supposed to cheer for her despite all her messed up behaviour. She has no redemption whatsoever, no moment of self reflection. Even when her life is going down the hill in AYITL, she still treats it like none of it its her fault and not a single person in her life says anything different. I think Rory's downfall is simply due to some terrible character writing.
Or...she was simply spoiled. She was never left alone, to fend for herself, never had to go one single day hungry or cold, never in need. Never knew about hard work, she sailed through life thanks to mom and gramps/gramma so naturally she ended up in an empty space.
I think if rory wouldve been rejected to Harvard like paris then she might have seen a glimpse of real world and may have been grounded. The whole point that she always got what she wanted the most and always had choices too eg Harvard/yale or dean/jess and her mom/gparents she was always on cloud 9
Yes unfortunately. Lorelai’s perpetual insistence that Rory was “special” lead her to believe she was…actually special! This attitude would’ve worked a lot better if she had been Emily and Richards daughter instead of Lorelai, as that is exactly what they wanted.
I am so glad I read the comments and realize I’m not the only one who thinks that they are insufferable 😂😂
They’re not pick mes but the show has a pick me girl narrative for sure
Bro u sound like jer
I think I am gonna be sick. What the ick! 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮 Names and numbers, PLEASE! 😂😂😂😂
I always laugh at how folks think that GG was a feminist show.
There is was a scene I just watched in Gilmore Girls where Paris said she wasn't mad a Rory for being valedictorian because she looked up the personal histories of valedictorians going back 25 years that they don't necessarily due too well in later life. Season 3 Episode 22 on Netflix.
The idea of not being feminine making you a "pick me" is so toxic and stupid. And homophobic. As if men actually prefer women comfortable and natural anyway. They don't. The male fantasy is a performatively feminine doll.
The first time I watched this I was just a kid but I remember thinking oh my goodness they are so much more alike then they think( the mother daughter relationships) I think that was reatthd whole premise, the cyclical nature of things. I think I read somewhere that the writers planned on Rory ending up in the same position as Lorelei
Is labeling other girls derogatory terms not also a form of misogyny? In this pseudo enlightened period of inclusivity, it seems that people are more divided as ever.
i completely agree! it seems as if nowadays people who just call girl who they dont like a pick me. just like bitch, whore, bop, slut . another word easy word to degrade women
Her decline began in episode 1, when she got into Chilton. She was already messed up from having a narcissistic, immature, single mother who indulged her and kept telling her how perfect she was, and leaned on her for emotional support rather than BEING her emotional support. If she'd finished high public school at the top of her class, gone to community college by working for the money at Luke's diner or another local business, and gotten a down-to-earth job like CNA, bookkeeper, or even stylist, she'd have gotten over herself and found some empathy for others. But she had everything handed to her so often that she felt she deserved it, even if she hadn't earned it. She was a terrible person, but got away with it because she was cute and her grandparents had money, meaning she had money, even if her mother was a "self-made woman," who really had lots of help and support from her community. Lorelei should have married Luke a lot sooner. Like, within a year of meeting him. He was down-to-earth enough that he could have mellowed her out, and could have been a dad to a young Rory, who would have benefited from that stability.
The whole thing about Lane being a cheerleader bothers me so much because *why* did Rory have a problem with it? Lane was barely allowed to do anything. She had to hide her biggest passion from her mom and was constantly forced to do stuff she didn't want to do (Forced dates with guys, food that she seemingly didn't like) And the one time Lane's mom allows her to do something that's fun Rory decides to... Cut her out? judge her? For what?
it always bothered me, it wasn’t like a “this isn’t the real you” kind of thing, it was just rory being a hater to lane for trying something new and branching out
This was web fiction. So this is Korean version of watpad live action film. It's sums up everything wrong with bringing fan fiction or web fiction into actual money gaining, accessable for wide audience movie or tv series. Somethings are should hide beneath shadow.
