You can get them by defeating the tiger acolyte, just run through the area past the bridge next to the windrest hamlet keeper’s shrine.

Yes you can still get it after the captain. You need to complete a side quest in chapter 2, where you unlock the merchant. If you didn’t complete this quest, the spell still can be taken from the boss, but he will be on the second floor of the realm, you’ll have to fight him this time.

Sorry about that man, I had some tech issue and the recording didn’t work well. You have to go right from the moon shell and you’ll end up at the point shown on the map. You can follow the walkthrough from there. On a completely different note, If you take left, you’ll find sniper crab with a skeleton shell on its back. Grab that if you haven’t already done it. Also if you continue further after getting the skeleton shell, you can open a shortcut which will lead you to the boat where you would have fought the lobster with the chopstick.

On my first playthrough, I didn’t realise Royal shellspliter was there, and fought the knight . Got him in my second playthrough. The enemies in the beginning of the game are way harder than later ones imo
