The birds are afraid to land on the ground because the cat is lurking and watching them. The cat is stray and runs anytime a human tries to approach him. So we leave a bowl of catfood out by the back sliding door to try to remedy the situation. But the cat is so shy that he runs off whenever he sees people coming too close to that window.
