Also what do we do if we feel God has told us to work to expose the problems in our previous church. We believe God has laid it on our hearts to bring this into the open so that no other people get hurt. How can we do this?

Praise God that even though we were desperately hurt by church leaders, we have still kept our faith. There are churches where Jesus will put you, so you can heal, serve and continue to praise our wonderful God.

Really good point about the end times & not to obsess about when it happens. Thank you for another great teaching.

Why do we doubt God? Because there is no good evidence that God is real, rather than just imaginary? Because all of us believe that most gods are just imaginary, so we know that it's _possible_ for gods to be imaginary? We all know it's possible for theists to believe - to really, _really_ believe - in an imaginary god, don't we? On the other hand, we don't know if a real god is even _possible._ Because religion is tribal? Because we know that, worldwide, faith-based people _overwhelmingly_ tend to believe in whatever religion and whatever god or gods they were taught to believe as a child? Because we know that this pattern of religious belief, worldwide, fits perfectly with a world where all gods are just imaginary? Because that pattern makes no sense if there really _is_ a god who wants us to know him? Because it makes no sense if there really _is_ a god who gives a crap about human beings? After all, how inept can a god _be?_ Certainly, the people who worship a god, just like all the people who _have_ worshiped a god in the past, really _want_ to be worshiping the real one (if there _is_ a real one). Because the Bible shows evil as good? Because the Bible shows a bloodthirsty monster - cruel, uncaring, and narcissistic - as the god of the OT, and then tacks on a NT god who's supposed to be the same being, somehow? Because Christians clearly wanted Jesus to be a god, but also wanted there to be only _one_ god, so they made their weird Rube Goldberg-contraption of a trinity? (But Muslims have weird ideas of their own, too.) Because the Bible supports slavery, genocide, the burning of women, the murder of heretics, homosexuals, and 'witches,' the stoning to death of disobedient children, making a woman marry her rapist, and countless other examples of barbarism that Christians today typically just ignore - if they've bothered to read the Bible at all - because it's not what they _want_ their god to be like? Because the NT brings that evil into the afterlife, as well? Because an eternity of torture is neither just nor merciful, and because _any_ kind of Hell makes absolutely no sense at all? (What, after all, is even the _point?_ And why would a god even create people he _knew,_ with no chance of being wrong, would just end up in Hell? Why not create other people, instead?) Because faith-based people are destroying my country and my world? Because the most bigoted, the most corrupt, the most uncaring, the most power-hungry people also tend to be the most devout - or they _depend_ on the devout for support, at least? Because evidence is how we distinguish reality from delusion and wishful-thinking, while there is nothing - literally *nothing* - so crazy, so harmful, or so wrong that it _can't_ be defended by an appeal to faith? Because we're more connected to the rest of the world now, and so we see other people believing contradictory things _also_ by faith, rather than with good evidence backing them up? Because we see good people who believe in other gods or don't believe in a god at all, while we see even otherwise good people doing evil things because of religion? Because we recognize that any god who gave a _crap_ about human beings could - and would - easily settle this? Because we recognize that there would likely be no debate about a god if such a god actually existed outside of theist imaginations? Because believers never seem to _act_ like they actually believe what they claim they believe? Because they grieve just as much as we atheists do when they lose a loved one, even when it's a child (yet they _claim_ that all children automatically go to Heaven)? And because they seem terrified of actually talking to a nonbeliever, even though their religion tells them to be missionaries? Because believers are over-represented in our politics and in our prisons, but _under_ represented in science, philosophy, and educated fields of knowledge in general? Because evidence-based thinking progresses our understanding in demonstrable ways, while faith just drags its feet as it's dragged forward into the future, kicking and screaming all the way? It seems obvious to me why we doubt gods. The bigger question is why does anyone _believe_ in a god or gods? Do you have anything other than wishful-thinking, anything _distinguishable_ from wishful-thinking? And how is wishful-thinking that powerful? That has always amazed me. I've had Christians tell me flat-out that they don't _care_ if their religious beliefs are true or not, because they want to believe them, anyway. That just blows my mind. But that really doesn't seem to be uncommon thinking among the faith-based.
