I only got into minecraft recently so it's so fun to see what the game used to be like back in the day! My girlfriend found this video super nostalgic though, she regonized most of these mods

One other thing I remember from the old modding days, open source was VERY rare, whereas nowadays it's not only extremely common for mods to be open source, but it's kind of expected. The majority of Modrinth pages link back to a git repo, all the most popular mods have several contributors, launchers like PrismLauncher have not only seriously improved how easy it is to mod the game, but they're also open source. The reason this is a good thing is because it means all the code is publicly available instead of kept hidden by the developer. It makes it much easier for any random person to fix bugs and add features for mods they like as long as they know a bit of Java, and it makes it much harder for mods to hide malicious code because anyone who knows Java can just read through it and let people know if anything's there that shouldn't be there, as well as creating a fork, copying the code and allowing them to make their own modifications independent of the main project. Overall I feel like the mass community move towards open source mods has been the single greatest thing to happen in the modding scene.

fun facts: there is a port of clay soldiers to 1.12.2 valkyrien skies(1.12.2 - modern day) is almost identical to zeppelin also, from the fog(not man from the fog) or end of herobrine add herobrine to the game in modern versions

I literally used every single mod in this video, with exception to the clay soldiers that i have no memory off. Old School minecraft has a charm i find hard to find in modern minecraft. It's like by adding more, the game became... less? I don't know. I liked the simplicity of what it was.

When i started playing minecraft the latest version was 1.4.7, i remember most of those mods, too many items was such a classic, the first mod i ever installed, clay soldiers was also one of the first mods i ever played and it was so much fun, another mod i remember was called creeper king or something like that where you raided villages with a mob army, so much fun, i have to mod newer versions of minecraft to see if there are any new mods similar to those
