Old is gold 🇧🇩🇵🇸✌🏽
Please don’t be fooled by the Bangladeshi community. They will stab you in the back as soon as you walk away all they do is sell drugs and preach hatred.
What rubbish are your talking. Go educate yourself
Damn thats Ali Jacko the kickboxer, he was World Champion at some point in the 90s or 00s.
THANK YOU SO MUCH ENGLAND 💜💜💜💜⭐🏅
My father is in UK since 2004. I was born on 14 January 2005. My father came to Bangladesh for the first time on March 13, 2023, which was the first time in my life to see my father in person. Dad is still in UK. Southsea
What’s the name of the intro song
I love more the old generation then new generation, you can see how Bengali people had stronger identity despite living in West
So much contribution of sylheti people to Britain and Bangladesh.
Is this film related to the novel Postcolonial Readings in Monica Ali's Brick Lane because my university research is related to it please answer
Did you come across gazumba Ali he lived in this area he once lived in cardiff
I love Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Did there used to be bengali record shops on brick Lane?
Was watching the documentary When Cousins Marry. And the poor children with birth defects. It's heartbreaking and also a drain on the welfare system. Don't get me wrong, it used to happen in Western society. But thankfully with medical science it's a no no now. x
Marrying cousins are common practice of pakistani community, not so much in the bengali community.
not even joking that my nana
Love from sylhet 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
The song at the end is enchanting... Is there a recording of this song anywhere else? What is it called?
love the song at the start
Seen this, Poor elder Bengalis faced a lot of racism as soon as you type "East london racism" its all you see. No wonder the gangs now, aint noone playing with the Bengalis now
I see honest people! I understand they are as they have retained their original flavors ! I have lived in the USA since 1970 and feel totally integrated and have not missed the old Bangladeshi culture of too much attachment or religion. I was glad to get away from the religious extremists fundamentalist fanatics. Rural Kansas and Missouri have been a great way to get away from medieval mindset. The immigrants need to assimilate to the new culture as much as possible to make live and let live between all of various people. Their leadership needs to understand and act on that or they may face serious backlash ! Integration and assimilation are easer !
Why don’t you just ethnically cleanse yourself 😂
you are a great example of american bengalis and american "muslims". it really is true america is the land of fitnah. unlike you, our bengali community in the u.k. is huge and growing more successful every generation while still holding onto our culture and religion. assimilation doesn't mean ridding yourself of your whole identity.
I am so glad to be watching one of these documentaries of the historical Bangladeshi community before I go to bed. My favourite documentaries for sure.

All praise e to God must say the Bengali community has gone through alot of suffering from the hands of the majority racist English men of this country. We are stupid people, we left a land of gold to e a slave of These ungrateful people.
Shut up you mug you wouldn't be here in the UK if it wasn't for us English, be grateful what you have.
@@yellowhatproductions5863 Be grateful for the colonisation by the British? Stfu
We shouldn't have settled. These people will never be grateful nor see you as their equal.
@@yellowhatproductions5863 you should be ashamed if your ancestors who looted us and killed us and colonize us.

What is with the translation? Nothing like what is being said.
These Sylethis are quite racist to non Sylethis. That’s something they keep secret from the British public
Here we go again...you’re judging every sylheti based on those you’ve come across or heard about. If we sylhetis would do the same and say “these non-sylhetis are quiet racist to non-sylhetis”, that would be fair wouldn’t it? I’ve met plenty of non-sylhetis who hate on us sylhetis, yet I won’t judge every single one of you. There are good and bad people everywhere. So Please don’t spread false information about a group of people which can cause unnecessary judging and arguments.
@@NisCho754 since you have not been in a non Sylethi position I don’t expect you to understand the open racism we have to face. And the division among Bangladeshis in UK was created by Sylethis. I never knew that because I don’t belong to Syleth I am considered an outsider. You have clearly affirmed my statement by your comments.
@@adamuce I have clearly affirmed it? Or are you the one coming after us sylhetis and clearly showing that you’re the one who don’t like us and creating divisions? Your argument about me not being a non-sylheti’s position is absolutely flawed coz I can say the same thing to you about you not being in a sylheti’s position. People will always tend to click better with their own group, doesn’t mean it’s a matter it creating divisions: Anyway don’t even know what you’re trying to prove, that us sylhetis discriminate others? We’re bad? Sorry to burst your bubble but it’s none other than people like yourself who creates divisions and puts more fuel into the fire, would highly recommend you to change your mentality and mindset and be open minded, once again don’t judge everyone based on your experience. Your description of us sylhetis fits perfectly with yourself.
@@NisCho754 a bit rich coming from someone trying to talk about division, and refer to themselves as “us Sylethis”.
@@adamuce so as a sylheti I can’t refer my people as “us sylhetis”? Isn’t sylhet a division? Lets say If a person from Ctg says “us chattgaiyan”, would you still react the same? Probably not...Anyway try to explain your point rather than pointing out stuff that’s common sense.
I remember watching this documentary on BBC 2 when it was first aired. We stayed up late to watch it. Ws very rare to see anything on BD back then. But, damn I feel old. Those baggy jeans were all the rage.. 😆
Lol those bad ass dance moves. Wonder where those guys are now. Legends

That uncle was classic, a true sylheti, full of life and spirit. Lots of tales to tell, social , hospitable. I really miss those old uncles of ours. Gone are those days.
You described us sylhetis perfectly, absolutely love our sylhetis in England. Not only have you guys build a strong sylheti community but you’ve also established a very strong Muslim community as well MashAllah.
you all prolly dont give a shit but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Kason Pierce instablaster ;)
@Thatcher Nelson Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Thatcher Nelson it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D Thanks so much, you saved my ass!
The Bangladeshi community in the 70s and 80s suffered terrible racism in tower Hamlets from the BNP far right they terrorised but the Asian community fought back this is why the Asians are still in areas of Tower Hamlets.
And now those Sylethis have taught their kids to be racist towards Non Sylethis post 2000
@@adamuce 😂😂😂 how can you be racist to your own ethnicity. Non stlhetis especially dhakai ppl look down on sylhetis and say we speak village bangla and that we are peasants, don’t try to play victim. You ppl are big snobs and think you’re better than stlhetis. That’s why we don’t like you. We prefer to be with our own
@@riyadinho6795 you have answered your own question and cemented my thoughts. Bravo
@@adamuce cool. I really don’t care tbh, most U.K. Bengalis are sylheti like 90%. We created every community you see here, all the businesses, alhamdulillah even the masjids especially in London, even under great adversity and abuse back in the day. Be thankful
@@adamuce also on that point we are not ‘taught to hate non-stlhetis’ lol we simply do not care about you guys, you don’t cross our minds I promise. We have better things to do.
“Dont forget the past it will help you in the future” wise words 💯
