Je comprends tout à fait ! Le Bill est aussi mon préféré 😊 Dans l'ensemble je préfère les manteaux plus ajustés, surtout en tant que petite, mais parfois ces grands manteaux ont aussi leur utilité: mon manteau d'hiver actuel est plutôt large, quand je n'ai qu'un pull léger en dessous je flotte un peu dedans, par contre dès que les températures descendent sous -5/-10°C avec de gros pulls en dessous il prend tout son sens 😊

That's interesting, while trying through the videos all the coat options, I found that they had a very nice diversity of styles, as well as sometimes really different color options ? 😊 Of course some are more classic, and the ones in that video might be, but overall I found their selection to be quite nice !

I think the price is right, it felt thick with a nice padding inside and a useful hood, and it's a bit longer. Nowadays that's the price for this type of coats I think 😊😊 Regarding the size I went for the smaller size (34/2), since I'm in between two sizes. I'm small, but not very thin 😊

The size 2 was correct I think 😊 I'm between a 2 and a 4 so it's the smaller size. My jumper is not very thick, there would have been enough space for a slightly thicker one, but not enough for a very chunky one 😊 I hope that helps ?

@junedusk then maybe actually stay with the size 2: I am also 5'2 but closer to 121lbs, and I think my chest size is 38 (I tried to use a converter from French to US sizes, hope it is right 😅). So it seems that you are overall quite thinner than me 😊

This is completely true, and I totally agree ! Points 2 and 3 are particularly interesting, because now that I think about it, I also have a similar feeling... Although not for everything, I would still considering investing in luxury jewelry for example, but nothing very trendy or with logos, so it is also less obvious than a handbag for example. I'm also a bit torn, because on one hand some luxury handbags are absolutely gorgeous and I understand wanting to save for a special one, and I also understand that some people are simply earning a lot of money and on their level the spending for a luxury handbag is nothing. Also when you own them anyways, it does not make much sense to let them in their cupboard. But on the other hand, I also feel somehow that "obvious" luxury handbags, either through big logos or very famous designs, are becoming kind of "tacky" ? And in our current struggling economy, unless you evolve in those circles where you are anyways never in contact with "real" people, it can also be seen as a bit insensitive I guess ? I don't know, I'm just thinking and writing at the same time, trying to figure it out 😂

Hi ! I completely understand your point, we all have limited resources (time, money,...) and we have to choose and prioritize how we are spending them, which is a very individual process 😊 I spend money on luxury, as well as middle range brands, mostly following what I like. The thing is that on top of wondering if I like an item, I also have to decide if it is worth it: would I wear it enough, is the quality good, does the price point make sense,... And with all the price increases in luxury these last years, I think that last point has become less and less true, at least at my financial level. Buying luxury at these prices, on top of the bags not necessarily being worth it anyways in my opinion, would take financial resources away from other things I enjoy in life as you have mentioned 😊 It's a balance to find !

Yes, that's exactly how I feel too !! It has become absolutely out of reach, cost of living has generally increased everywhere while salaries are not following... So to be able to spend on top the crazy amounts they ask for, is becoming less and less realistic - and it simply does not make sense anymore. I'm glad I purchased most of my collection before too ! We got lucky, I feel sad for the new generations that won't have this opportunity 😔 I'm hoping that more brands will realize this, and either reduce prices or at least freeze them long enough until our salaries can catch back 😂 During Covid we could not travel, go out, so a lot of people redirected that extra money towards luxury. Brands probably extrapolated from there, thinking this was maybe a new norm, except that now we can travel and go out again !! I've heard the theory that some brands like Chanel also speculated that their ultra-rich customers would be enough to compensate for the middle-class customers they would loose, making their bags more attractive and more elitist to these ultra rich, but it seems that it didn't really happened or at least not on the scale they needed for this to work...! Let's see what the future will bring 🙂

@susanuchida586 Same, the only luxury bag I purchased in 2024 was a second hand Sicily from D&G, a special edition with a family on it 😍 It's a bit of a hunt, not everything is available second hand, the bags are not always in good condition, and sometimes second hand prices are still absolutely ridiculous 😅 I would be careful about fakes too. But that's definitely the way to go now ! New prices have gone too high, for a quality that is now too low...

Ah yes, I completely understand the fear of losing or damaging expensive items, a lot of my friends have it too 🙂 As far as I'm concerned, I have never lost a bag in my life, cheap or expensive, so I am not very afraid of that. Damaging would be a bigger worry, but even that has almost never happened, and for expensive bags I mostly pick darker colors to avoid potential stains ! So this is not really what is currently stopping me from buying luxury, I think it's more that I don't see any bag that I would want enough to pay the prices they are now asking for 😅 Especially when, as you say, there are many beautiful mid range bags ! Which soft leather bags do you have in mind ?

I totally understand, for my luxury collection I purchased iconic shapes, either in their iconic color if there was one, or in a special color otherwise 😊🥰 Sadly I have the feeling that for luxury brands 3000 has become entry-level, which is absolutely crazy considering that just a few wears back that mark was more around 1800/2000 ! And although it might be the entry level for new luxury, it's definitely not for mid range brands which are offering beautiful designs and great quality too 😍 These are indeed the limitations of the second hand markets: some bags never appear there, and others appear but even more expensive than in shops or for crazy prices considering the state they are in... You can get second hand chanel bags fro 4000 to 5000€, but for a second hand bag this price is far too crazy for me 😅😅

@@delphinthecity I think some brands might price themselves out of the market. Before a luxury bag purchase I now find myself asking "Do I think this is an honest price? For the brand, the leather, the model, the craftsmanship?" as well as the more usual questions like "will I wear it?". Honest price is not the same as cheap, but it's a reflection on what they think about themselves and their customers. I think Saint Laurent is honest tbh, and this is reflected across their range of prices. Bottega otoh...

@gillian2471 Absolutely ! I've always been wondering if a purchase was "worth it", not only in term of craftsmanship but also compared to my earning/spending habits. And last year I've found the answer to that question was overwhelmingly "nope, not worth it" ! Celine and YSL still have decent priced bags, although by YSL I feel that it really depends on the bag...

I think Swedish would be interesting, I love how it sounds. I think a language with a different alphabet would be interesting too, but difficult! My husband speaks French and I sometimes think it would be fun to have another language that we both speak. We’ll see! The last puzzle I tried was this Fall and it was beautiful but took me two months to complete! That in itself was a running joke between my husband and I! 😅 Good luck! 😊

I've learned 2 more, but forgot almost everything because I did not practice in the last 10 years, it's a bit a pity, and on my to-do list for someday 😅 I also had Latin in high school. And now I've been learning ancient Egyptian 😊 Do you speak several languages too ?

I learned French in school from the age of 9 to 15 and did really well, but I’ve forgotten almost everything. They did not teach us how to conduct conversations and I was not immersed in it so it didn’t stick. Years later I married a someone who was bilingual (English and French) and we visited his family many times in France, but my memories of the language never resurfaced.

That's the terrible thing with languages, without practice it fades away 😭 In France it's also the same, we learn some theory and do exercises, but we don't practice conversations enough... The best way to finish learning the language is then to go to the corresponding country, but that's easier in Europe where all countries are next to each other !

Ah ah yes ! Lot of fun, and at the same time I was so shocked when I opened it 😅 My accent is really bad I think 😂 The part regarding the Egyptian book, is because I'm terrible with grammar 😊 Although that also involves commas, because the grammar is necessary for building correct translation, including the commas ! For my everyday use it is fine, but it is rather thick indeed ! If you are bags which are not very wide, it might not be the best... It works with the Celine Triomphe for example, in the classic size, but with any bag less deep it would not work 😊

I really love this wallet but I don't think I will use it for everyday but maybe occasionally where I only need some cash , License, bank card. That's it. Wish I remove the coin pouch and make it like a little zip outside ( like the victorine wallet OF LV)

It's crazy !! As a petite I don't think the big sizes would work, everything would be soooo big 😭 At least the positive thing is that you can be 1000000% sure that it won't slide down with such a strong elastic waistband 😂

The cotton and merino ones are the best !! 😍 I think I have maybe 2 or 3 with mohair, here it can be really cold so it's still fine with something under them. But I definitely don't wear them as much as the cotton or wool options !

Ah ah I still have NO IDEA 😂😂😂 I contacted Sézane, they sent me a special paper to add to my return, saying the label on the item is wrong, but they did not tell me how it's normally called 😅 I went through their whole jumper collection on their website, and did not find it... So it's still a complete mystery 😂
