Watch Dave make a gutta percha golf ball. The process is very nearly the same as the 1899 golf ball mold he is using.
After completely the molding process, we hand paint the ball 4-6 times, then finish with a polyurethane spray coating.

      Gutta was used as the primary golf ball material from 1850 to 1900. Some of us still play with gutta percha balls in old style tournaments. check out hickorygolfers.com if interested
