What fkt cleethorpes was the fact that during the miners strike cleethorpes was selected to be the mass base of all the police, I say police, a he'll of a lot of them were army. They paid every seamstress the could to make simple black uniforms, hired every van they could After that all the mining communities blacked cleethorpes and that was almost the death of it. It took years for stuff to happen but it's never fully recovered. Shame because it does have a lot to offer.

We was at cleethorpes beach Monday, town is run down but it’s the closest to us and kids love it. I love mablethorpe it’s stunning

Local here i have fond memories of Cleethorpes the donkeys,paddling,the outdoor swimming pool the worse thing they did was get rid of Pleasure Island Theme Park and not replace it what it needs is a small fairground area like Mablethorpe i remember the ghost train down at Wonderland end,I've been to West Sussex beaches and they don't have sand,arcades or souvenir shops so we are lucky

We go to cleethorpes regularly for half a day. Take the dogs on the beach, fish and chips and home. Its fine for that. The haven site is fine for a few days but its not somewhere you would go for a weeks holiday. Armed forces day is a big event. They used to do party on the pier with big acts, i went about 25 years ago, whilst waiting for it to start a girl asked me if i could give her friend more space as she was pregnant. She must have been 14, she was swigging a 2 litre bottle of cider, then dug a hole in the sand, threw up in it and burried it. Its gone downhill since then... 😅 The worst seaside town in that area is skegness purely because of the people. Last time i went the beach was covered in beer cans, used nappies, all sorts. Why people can carry it there but not away will always baffle me. Bridlington has gone that way too.

Spent the afternoon on the seafront today, it was packed. Blazing sunshine, busy arcades, bustling cafes and eateries, busy pubs. The beach was absolutely heaving with people having a great time. The mini railway and the lollipop train were completely packed. There's also the lovely beaches at The Yacht Club end and at the start of The Fitties (I forget the name now). It's a great place and there's plenty to do.

So much to do in Cleethorpes. Shame the water goes so far out but apart from that. Sun sand plenty for kids to do. Plenty of pubs clubs and good quality restaurants. The reason I emigrated here

The worst thing that happened to Cleethorpes is the closure of Wonderland then Pleasure Island. Turning Wonderland into a Market then closing that.

I lived in Cleethorpes from 1968 until 1975. It was a great place to live. I came back and stayed at the Kingsway Hotel which is a fabulous hotel ! Lovely memories !

Its a working class ,seaside town ,arcades ice cream parlours ,cafes pubs .bistros ,shops ,swimming baths,everything you need for a holiday ,and i Love it.!

I used to live in Cleethorpes during my student years, I'll admit it's a bit dated, but it's a great little Town and I'll die on that Hill.

Wetherspoons in Cleethorpes has a nice roof top terrace too.

Spent my first day walking around Cleethorpes last week, around the fitties, what a fantastic place, very picturesque, long sandy beach, sand dunes, some world war 2 history and some lovely cafes along the beach front. Take a chance on this little gem and make your own mind up !!

We pop down to Tener-Cleef on train from Barton every month or so from across the Humber and i have to say we love it. Can't believe you didn't cover the miniature steam railway literally 50 yards from the signal box, Papas fish and chips on the pier and the land train. You can get a direct train to Liverpool from the station too.
