      Well........ technically speaking... portal is just half-life 2 mod, you can find many different files from HL2 in P1. Even impulse 101 command gives you gravity gun, and all guns from HL2. You can even spawn NPCs like Alyx or zombies in portal and they will work fine. It works because portal is made on top of hl2, and is not really different. But it is fixed in portal 2, only little code lines from hl2 are present. Someone even tried using it to recreate guns, but they were working badly

      @feritye767 not exactly. Engine is one case, but the portal is built on top of HL2. They deleted hl2 maps and wrote portal code (portals behavior, cubes, buttons) and created maps. If talking "same engine," it is the case in portal 2 where there is no trace of old games, but orange box collection is different. Yes, even TF2 has the same thing
