Lawn Genie pop up impact sprinkler

In operation, with full box. These were produced by Hardie irrigation for Lawn Genie at the time in the early 1990s. They really are a well built sprinkler.

An early 90s sprinkler, was advertised for low pressure use, and in fact it works best when I don't open the valve very far.

    Huh I've never seen this before. I like the clicking it makes! Just a residential version of a stream rotor?

  • @NelsonBigGunP200Fan
    @NelsonBigGunP200Fan 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    is that a really old version of a multistream? just on a bigger scale! That is cool and I can't help but think I've seen this as a kid, and I wondered how it worked, I guess there's gears on the inside of it that turn with the water?

    This is a new one to see. The drive mechanism is very interesting, how it has no springs in the trip mechanism... Nice slow rotation too. Thanks for sharing!

    Nice Buckner 211. it gets out there good even for being a LA model. What i want to get is a 2" Buckner or WT rocker jet. Those are neat!

    Nice 70E. My first 70 was a 70EW rebuilt. It ran decent enough off the hose, but when i ran it off my pump it really came to life. What size nozzles are you running on this?

    Nice Rocker jet. I have a 512 also ( i think ) however its missing the trip collars and also it runs but its very fast at moving.

    I've seen these in videos before, But I never got one for myself.. I should see about getting one. These look like they would be in a popup canister!

    Nice SK-15! I got mine still on the card that it came with. Mine also has a wide stream from the nozzle.. I am not sure why, though. it does leak a bit but still runs!

    Nice P2-PJ! I got mine at a yard sale across from my parents house. The trip mechanism is odd on it. It doesn't need a spring to activate. I've ran mine full bore and on low pressure, still runs great!. I had a few of these as a kid!

    I have one of these like this too. I always loved the versions with the stainless steel collars and distance screw. I have a version of this on the rainbird step spike with the brass spoon arm..

    That is a cute little traveler! I didn't even know they existed! It runs well off the hose! Love that WB made head too, Have you ever had any issues with the weld on the PJ tube breaking? I have 3 Toro 412's that have that issue.

    Nice Lawn Genie! I never knew they existed until i saw a video of one long ago. They have a unique design of the head inside and the PJ arm. Thanks for sharing! Maybe I should look for one myself!

    Nice Rain Train! I should pull mine out and get some more footage of it running. Mine came with the same head too, the Nelson P70. Yours runs good!

    @NelsonBigGunP200Fan 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Interesting impact! Never seen a water demon before. Is that another that was made with the WB patent? I notice the arm and the diffuser piece look similar. That runs good too, even with a small leak! Thank you for sharing!

    Very nice Skinner! You wanna know something funny? Last night i dreamed i was at this house ( i dont remember where ), but i was in a room and there was boxes and in those boxes were skinner popups (like NOS condition) I pulled one out and it was a brass impact inside. However, the body of the impact was taller than normal and the drive nozzle was weird. Ever see a compression fitting on a brake line? Well the drive nozzle was formed sort of like that, it almost looked like a drive/spreader nozzle. The hole in the nozzle wasnt straight like a normal straight bore nozzle, it almost looked like part of a compression fitting, like the hole was flared out. i talked to the people who owned the house and they told me to take them all home with me. I was like wow! Thanks! I dont remember anything past that though. But the impact inside the plastic casing looked like a Skinner but strangely shaped. Even the drive arm was different.

    That is something I've never seen. Ever. That is a real cool super rare brass impact. The drive spoon is strange. Maybe like a first version or something (I can't think of the word). The drive arm on it looks almost like a wedge.

    So great to see this run. I sold a handful of these in the late 1980’s. Yours is still pulling itself along, and you capture its operation really well. Thanks for sharing it.

    I loved seeing your collection. I found in interesting seeing the Fluidic sprinklers since I do have a couple of them as well. The one I was intently looking for was the Raintime impacts. I have a few left, and a number of worn out parts. I wish I could find the Raintime impacts and put a couple of them into operation like new. I will of course adjust them to my liking. I like your Rain King models too. One thing for sure you have quite a variety, where my collection is focused basically on impact sprinklers. I have a few of the antique models, but also have new sprinklers to keep filling in the different models and styles. Thank you for sharing a glance into your collection.

    The Lawn Genie is in many ways similar to the Rain Bird Mini-paw. There are definitely many differences in the sprinkler head design. The arm is different as well as trip mechanism. I have a number of mini canister designs and have to do a compare and test on each one. Thank you for sharing this one as I am surprised that it goes backwards slower than the forward motion.

    I think you have a leak!

  • @NelsonBigGunP200Fan
    @NelsonBigGunP200Fan 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That is a interesting PJ tube design if i ever saw one. It does a good job of keeping the sidesplash inline with the stream too. A 17001. Isn't there a 17091 Which is like the RB 47?

  • @antiquesprinklers
    @antiquesprinklers 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is another rare sprinkler in great condition - allowing for a small leak. I think it was a consumer model put out by Western brass in the 1960’s.

  • @antiquesprinklers

    Great to see one with the trip assembly completely intact. Very good example of this sprinkler.

    these ones are interesting. They seem to do better with larger nozzles though. I have one with a 5/32 that doesn't quite want to reverse properly.

    Super rare. Great to see it running.

  • @antiquesprinklers
    @antiquesprinklers 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is a great example of a 512. It runs the same in forward and reverse as they were intended to. One thing I like about these is you can lock them in time to the very early 1960’s after the 511 and before the M series. It’s a great sprinkler you have here. Thanks for sharing it.
