A great show with thematic depth. A little heavy. The only thing that's missing is a chapter with rock-'em sock-'em fun-- possibly this could have been incorporated after the prison section-- a birth of freedom. After all, these are kids.

Both the overall subject and theme of this 2008 show are murky. "Weapons of mass destruction" was a 2002 public relations lie that George Bush used to gain public backing for the Iraq war. No WMDs were found. Why bring it up six years later in a band show at the start of the Obama administration? Is this a rebuke of Republican lies that fomented war? Is this a rebuke of mass media which spread the lies and hyped the war? The focus of each movement is unclear. The evangelical flavor of the show is preachy, pubescent, and internet-phobic, and it can't all be blamed on the whimsical "God Said" in Bernstein's Mass.
