    This channel popped up unexpectedly and WOW! am I impressed by your exquisite work! These are quilt dreams from my younger years.I made dresses with bodices that I embroidered heavily. But never attempted anything larger. Your beautiful enhancement is so rich, so romantic. The small dark quilt that you put on black felt quite honestly brought tears to my eyes. It's like some ancient fabric from the middle east. Breathtaking!!

    Nice tutorial…the sizes are not shared for the background square or set in finishing triangles . 😮

      6" background fabric and 6.25" cut corner to corner. She used Easy Angle cut at 6.25" to cut triangles

    I like this and it will be nice as an addition to a quilt or as the whole pattern. Question though, what is the size of the small triangle that you cut for the top to make it even?

    • @myquiltstudio
      @myquiltstudio 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the top triangle is the 6" square background cut on the diagonal.

    tip: for drawing line method, use very fine sandpaper to place little blocks on, to draw lines, fabric will not move or stretch, and also, oversize blocks a little to cut to correct size after sewing, far better result of flying geese blocks :-)

    I made a "stained glass" quilt using this method. I used an assortment of rainbow type of "marbled pattern" fabrics. I used fat quarters (a large quilt). The ONLY difference, with the first cut, I rotated the first layer, then sewed a 7/8 inch black strip between the new layer. Then I would cut again, rotate the next layer, sew the black strip until I was happy with the new block. Using the black strip not only grew the block, but acted as the "soldering" seams you see in actual stain glass. I used a clear 18 inch square ruler to cut it to the size & design pattern. It came out nice & looked authentic. 😊

    Bear with me, I'm just beginning. After we do as you show in the video, that will give us six squares all the same. Do we then take the same materials and stack them in a different order to get different squares?

    • @jkhegarty4317
      @jkhegarty4317 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can. You are the quilt artist. What ever inspires you to your blocks, do it. I am such a fussy quilter, but I have been satisfied with my work & on occasion, not so much. Enjoy!

    Wonderful demonstration. Pivoting the top and bottom and working inch by inch is the most fluid way. Leave the pins in the cushion!
