This is really good information. I am in backgrounds right now for a volunteer position as a spiritual counsellor. It is for an NPO hospice in Northern Cali.
This is good work.
My journey of this horrible disease with my mother has just begun. Luckily, I had POA, Advance Directives and a will done prior to her diagnosis. You should also have one done for yourself (caregiver) and appoint someone in the case that your loved one lives beyond the caregiver. Find someone to talk to. Your doctor, therapist, pastor, support group, friend. Sometimes, Im standing in line and God will send an angel to start a conversation. 30 minutes later Ive just unloaded everything. Take time for yourself even if it's a min of just breathing. 🙏🏽
This is excellent advice. Thank you for sharing!

Glad it was helpful!
I am an RN who works in a rehab/long term facility with dementia residents and my family member has Alzheimer's dementia. These are by far, the most educational videos on dementia. I have seen a few. So good, better than the educational training we get at work.
Thank you so much for your support.
She is such a good teacher! Have her make more videos please

Glad you think so!
It is great to realize the person is 'having' a hard time but i wish the same grace was allowed minors, especially autistics. A question based on my recovery in final longest medically allowed survival with early onset 'atypical alzheimers': You don't address biotoxin (often treatable) dementia. Is it ignored/prohibited? I have had a great functional decade starting in days of leaving the mycotoxin filled environment and 80% of residences are demonstrated to have mold. I get mocked or silenced for mentioning even to those in documented long-term mycotoxin exposure. It seems like medical gaslighting and deliberate denial along with other proven caused dementias. Medical professionals tried to teach me that method in university, but it never made sense to me. I was also taught the person with dementia is not aware nor able to suffer from brain function loss, which could be justfied by the denial of a dementia dx until very late stage (say last 3-4 years depending on flavor) however, i was extremely aware and distressed (NOT chemically depressed) for about 7 years prior to that final period. I think that is a comfortable self-deception by surrounding real people. Both me and mom knew and suffered a couple decades before that final go.die decade from the gaslights, but not dad. He was intervened and 'heard' for his 2 symptomatic, but lucid decades. Is that a sex-bias or gender bias that is a mutable factor?
Excellent video❤
Glad you liked it!
Why do we still want to take them out to eat and stuff?
My guess is JOE BIDEN HAS PARKINSON'S DISEASE DEMENTIA... Jill, Hunter, and the entire Biden administration are guilty of ELDER ABUSE❗❗❗
Thank you for sharing such an informative outlook on this disease. I do have a question about love being a feeling and not a memory. My sister has been sick for more than 8 years now and almost from the beginning her has expressed feelings of anger towards me. She was angry with me as she was entering this disease before we as a family knew what was happening. When I walk in to visit with her she is obviously not happy to see me. Everyone sees it. I wish I knew where this came from. If you have an answer I would love to hear it. It is heart breaking for me.
Hi @ColleenAnn-zi6sx - Thanks for asking and I’m so sorry this is happening to you and your family. Love is a feeling, emotion, and a memory. Your sister may be mistaking you for someone from her past right now. Do you look like someone that she might have had hard feelings with? Or did the two of you ever disagree? Whatever the reason, it is temporary. I know that is hard to believe when you are in the middle of it, but it will pass. Keep loving her. Make sure you have BIG hellos and little goodbyes. Always show up with a treat and don’t test her memory. Leave if you need to and try very hard not to take it personally. It is the disease and she is having a hard time.
❤
I hope that when she is old someone like her will be there. I hope she gets grace and love and compassion in her golden years. She is so beautiful inside and out. This is wonderful to see but makes me sad. ❤
Thank you for explaining Párkinson dementia like this, teh doctor don’t explain it at all
Gotta pray when I can no longer take care of myself...I am blessed with a woman like this.

Exceptionally informative slide show with intense videos. Thank you for this overview. Mom is 82 with late stage dementia and I am caring for her in my home after taking her out of a Memory Care facility plagued with Covid. We have a gentle routine and hoping she will find peace in her final days.
Where are you located?
Hi @pattitibble we are located at 1111 Summit Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76102
Where are you located?
We are located in Fort Worth, Texas.
Thank you for some great tips... I live in London UK, my sister has Altzimers, and I think is in mid stage, can you give me any advice on Vitamine supplements, I know the hospital gave her 6 x 20000 Vitamine D3 capsuals after a blood test but her husband ( carer did not give them to her) would it be possible to give her 1x large dose pill of 20000pu per week when I go to see her. Plus any other advice on nutrient supplements, as she is really not getting the care she needs or deserves. Thanks in advance. ❤
Hi @PENcilitis The doctor and her medical care team are the best people to talk about supplements as each person and their situation is different.
Some studies found Dark chocolate and magtien a special magnesium help memory Also some one made a device you put on your head had great results
Interesting!
I can't believe in 2024 we still don't have a simple way of putting people to sleep for surgery or other reasons. We invented Ether many years ago . I would hope for a device that you put on your head and nocks you out safely. The numbers of times i had to be anesthesia is Mind boggling and and i am only 50. Being one of early Fontane people born essentially with a frog heart 3 operations did really well but eventually started getting heart failure and luckily received a heart transplant on Easter Sunday exactly 24 years ago. I did well except started getting crazy Atrial Flutter Attacks 3 times put to sleep for cardioversion and a another for Ablation which didn't really work. I can't believe propfol ketemine is all they got
Just finished 11 months - burned all FMLA left lob - to care for my mom in home hospice terminal lung cancer - she passed in March: also my 83 year old dad. Now just my dad - he has level 6 dementia... SLUMS 16 .. and my disabled 47 year old Bipolar Schizophrenic younger brother... ...anyways it has been very hard learning curve... I am / was an MLS .. but nothing in my woork nor traning prepared me for this. Your channel and videos like this from others I have subcribed to have helped more than you know. Thank you thank you thank you.
So glad we've been able to offer you some support!
This lady is a wonderful! I’m sharing this with my children to educate them.
This is the best information I have found for my family about myself. Thank you so much.
