Bettas are a dice roll. Sometimes you get ones that are fine. Other times you get ones that were born and chose violence. My LFS has Bettas in the little tanks on their own but also has Bettas in with other fish. Usually tetras and the like. People looking for community Bettas should choose these ones. They are proven with other fish. Yes they are usually less pretty, not the half moon and dumbos etc. But they are a far safer bet. With tank mates like tetras keep them in large numbers. The more there are the less individualistic and more docile they become.

Bettas are beautiful, yes, but very lazy and disease prone. gouramis are beautiful as well as active.

Glo tetras are really worst. But they don't get sick easily and also not expensive. In my place(india) they cost only equivalent to 8cents each.so for a dollar you get 10 fish

The paradise fish is a hardier alternative to the betta.
Cool! I had never heard of this fish before, but it looks very cool. I’ll definitely try to keep one someday.
@@TheTetraDude It's very closely related to the betta. They belong to the same Macropodusinae subfamily within the labyrinth fish order. The paradise fish essentially has the same biological niche, but lives further North in China. So, for example, the three-spot gourami and the dwarf gourami belong to a separate subfamily.

I like to grow shrimps.But i think only Non predatory fishes like Guppies ,Molies, Goldfish can go with Shrimps. Tetras, Tiger barbs will kill shrimps

My green neon tetras always swim around in the back with the stem plants and Amazon swords. Always a treat when I come into my room and they are swimming in the frong

20 gallon is not small...
Well it is fairly small when you consider that most people’s tanks are 30 gallons+.
@thetetradude most people tanks are actually bowls, 20 is not small barely any people have 30+
@@kawaiipurplesaphire6163sorry, my error. Most centrepiece fish need at least 30 gallons plus, so these are the smallest I could find
Betta are territoriale but Corydoras should be whit them,olso Pleco to clean glass...
