Wow!!! How long did that take?

I just printed everything but I feel like something went wrong. I have the bigger pieces with extra layer under that’s causing problems

Please do not tell people if they use Bambu Studio they will be okay, that is not an accurate statement. Bambu Connect is a HUGE security hole. It was hacked the day it was released. BBL then turned around and said, wait, we meant it was only a beta version, even though it was a full release candidate just days prior. Bambu Connect will be installed on your computer once you update. You cannot install the udpate without Bambu Connect. it is baked into Bambu Slicer. Running Bambu Connect will provide hackers with access to your printer. BBL has done nothing to change this. the enryption keys for Bambu Connect have already been hacked, the fools hard coded the encryption keys inside the Bambu Connect app. That's not how encryption keys work. It's like leaving your house key in the door when you leave for work. And they still haven't updated the app with new encryption keys! There are industry standard ways to secure their services most of which are cheaper, easier and more secure, but they decided to roll their own. And it is clear they are out of their depth. This update does nothing to stop the DDOS attacks or the miriad of other issues with their servers. Best way to secure your printer is to not have it connect to the internet, it would also drasticly reduce the amount of traffic to their server making it easier to secure, but BBL has taken that option off the table. None of what they are doing has anything to do with security. It's all smoke and mirrors. It's clear they either don't understand how security works, or this was never about security to begin with. If you think the update will make you more secure, you have no idea what is really going on with this. The more disturbing issue is that everything now has to pass through their cloud servers. That is a single point of failure. What happens when their cloud is hacked, or if their cloud goes down. No one is printing at that point, and all your prints and designs are available to the hackers. Again, they have done nothing to secure their server, they are putting the "security" on the end user's side which does nothing the help the servers. This is the least secure way they could have handled this. As far as their claims that they are working with 3rd party vendors, that has been debunked by the 3rd party vendors they claim to be working with. What we know is that they flat out lied to their customers about what they are doing and why. They then backtracked and changed their blog post and removed the old one from internet archives (unfortunately for them, there are other archive sites that still have the old blog post available so you can check for yourself). They then told everyone it was much ado about nothing, but did nothing to change their security method. They are still moving forward with a completley unsecure solution that creates issues for end users while saying they are doing it for your security. If you use Bambu Studio, you will be forced to install an unsecure app on your computer that calls out to a Chinese controlled server where your data is being stored and collected. i ask you this, what would be worse? A nefarious actor hacking into BBL's cloud servers and gaining access to your prints, account information and credit card data, OR a hacker finding their way onto your home network and printing out a benchie?

And Bambulab cloud should be the most safe place in the complete internet? when they collect all the users in one place will the be so interesting for hackers and the Chinese government!

Well it raises too many question marks for me to consider buying a Bambulab printer in the future, sadly, and I am a potential customer, having already bought three cheap 3D printers and being exasperated by their lack of longevity and serviceability; part of my learning process, if you will. I don't see the need for all these functions to be accessible over the web, and if they were not accessible over the web, there would be none of the attack vectors they are describing.

BMW tried to charge a monthly fee for heated seats. So Bambu might try a monthly charge for some functions.

It's impressive how far your mental gymnastics go to excuse these complete failures of judgement. I can't tell if this is motivated reasoning or a desperate audition for a sponsorship now that respectable creators like Jeff Geerling are telling it like it is and not gagging on a non-disparagement agreement. You should be ashamed and you don't even realize it. "Just use Bambu Studio and all problems go away." "That's on BTT and not Bambu." Tell me, how do you feel about Slice Engineering and their patent bullying? "Maker" indeed.

So a lot of hackers are setting there eyes on Bambu. So Bambu reaction is that they make sure the hackers will have more data to hack.... They say the update is more secure, but as a Senior software developer i know these changes will decrease the security, not increase. Also the hackers will have more insentive too hack them now that they are trying to get all the user data too themself. So with this update Bambu will get MORE attacks. Not less. Every IT specialist know these blog posts are full of lies. It looks more like they want to get a monopoly and try to ban third party stuff so people need to get it from them.

Just saying that their statement is made by their lawyer and doesn't mean a thing , with so many get outs. eg We will not stop 3rd party filament and subscription will not be mandatory , So does that mean that you will volunteer to pay a subscription to get 3rd party filaments ? We will not monitor all your print files , only 99.999% of them . We will not brick your printer , you will still be able to use it with a SD card and we will just brick your AMS instead .

it's NOT improving the security, it's just hiding them. And security by obscurity don't work. Take a look at Linux it's open source and it's secure if the configuration is done right.

For my opinion, the gaslighting form Bambulab is within one big part for losing the trust in the company.

I heard a rumor that BTT is developing drop in controller boards that will run generic Klipper. I hope so!

"In response to losing way too much business we made the decision to implement an "Optional" Lan mode feature". Lan mode has always been there and the sole reason i brought two X1C. So they Cleary intended to remove Lan Mode. Lies, Lies and more Lies. Bambu is paving the way for subscription model and probably had always intended for this. Board room conversation was probably, lets get as many units out there in the wild as we can, then switch them all over so we can go on the worlds biggest money grab. I paid for my printer, it came with lan mode option to render me cloudless which suits me just fine. You can't sell a car and then render it useless if people do not sign up for xyz fuel program.

Brother I was ripping my hair out trying to figure out the same issues with my Petg prints leaving bleed traces on other colors my faces 😂 so frustrating and wasted filament. Wish you luck on your journey and sales. I hope to one day I can figure out printing Petg and avoid this stringing issue but from what I’ve researched this is unfortunately common problem with Petg. Let me know if you ever crack the code bro 😉✌️
