Great explanation. I just got the 990 Eagle Can’t wait to ride when weather permits. Thanks John.
Very good!
Very good summary, interview for thode who hésitante, clarifier the choice
Hello, I would be interested in the actual weight of the Carbon 5'0 V3 rocket wing. The manufacturer's information is often inaccurate.
good idea. turn up volumn , get a better mic
I bought my first foil from windance in 2023, an fcs 1480. Perfect foil to learn on with my 120 l board. But now that I’m on a 78l board now hitting Al my jibes I’m trying to figure out what the next foil will be. Larry
Hi Larry, would love to get you going on the perfect foil for you to step up from the 1480. Give us a call and we would be more than happy to assist you.
Hi Dave. Thanks for this video. But what about heavy guys like me (I'm 6'4 and 220 pounds)? What sort of foil do you recommend for starting out?
An F-One Gravity 1800 or 2200 would provide great lift to get you up and foiling quickly. I'd go 2200 if you're in light wind conditions mostly and 1800 if you've got moderate wind in the mid teens mph. If you're most often going to be using it in moderate wind, you could also try moving down to a Phantom 1680, which would take a little more power from your wing to get up on foil with but would provide smoother lift, more speed, and be something you'd keep in your quiver longer due to its versatility.
So you can use a mid V (Core bar) with low V kite? What about when you flag out? Any concerns?
A couple hundred dollars? More like several hundred dollars. Take care of your equipment, and it will take care of you😊😊. Always soak your bar after each days use in fresh water, and hang dry. Always check your lines for wear, and knots on a regular schedule. Always check that safety system is functioning as it should, and free of sand, corosion...... Do not wear abrasive gloves that will destroy your bar grip. Do not leave your bar laying, or hanging in the sun on a regular basis for long periods when not in use.(like kite schools) UV damage is the biggest destroyer of your equipment, as is leaving your kite flapping in the wind on a sunny beach all day. Take care, Happy Kiteboarding.😊
Great tips!
hello I now use a 1900 jp glide wind 19 1850 very good but slow (cap at 12 knots) easy to use. I am 70kg and I have an inflatable 103l board, tried my 1100 glide 11 and I found hard to bring out ot the water, should be a problem of the drag of inflatable in the non foiling glide? I just bought a hard board should i have to retry? the wind should be good enought (18 knots) when I tryed without luck. The 1100 on windsurf was good. thanks
Yes, definitely give it another go. 103L is a fairly small inflatable board for learning. We usually recommend people start on hard boards 120L+ or inflatables 140L+. Inflatables are less stable than hard boards but take up less space in the garage, so we always recommend starting on a hard board or an inflatable that's 20+ liters larger than an equivalent hard board so you get a little bit more stability. hard boards are also more efficient due to their more highly contoured profiles and hull shapes, so should enable you to taxi up quicker and easier.
What's the ballpark price on something like this? I see it's using an XT60 connector and Lipo pack. Could you maybe modify it to run off a generator if you wanted more than 20 pulls? I know about charging stuff and they can regen pretty quick. I was just thinking i have a little 2000W honda and could keep using it continously. How long is the total line length?
They run about $5,000. This particular model is designed to run off of a battery and charge between sessions. The rope length is 300 meters.
I'm curious about the optimal dock height off the water. We have a steep platform that's only a few feet long and a couple feet out of the water, depending on the tide. I was thinking about setting up some kind of a floating dock, but the wave action in the afternoons can get pretty brutal and I might need to make more of a swim platform. Any ideas on how to dimension something like that? I can imagine it's not going to be super cheap, but better to be creative than to give up easily. I've also thought of buying a stripped down pontoon boat and anchoring it just offshore. We could also use it to launch for kitesurfing when the wind is good
It depends a bit on your mast length - you want the foil plane to be in the water when you hop onto the board and you want the board to be low enough so that you can hop onto it. 2ft sounds like about the right height. I don't have much advice on the swim platform, but for dock starting a foil we're seeing a lot of people ordering the inflatable North Dockstart Launchpad to both protect the foil while launching and allow you to hop onto your pump foil board with a more natural gate. www.windance.com/products/north-dockstart-launch-pad?_pos=2&_sid=c785b3f8c&_ss=r
Lifesaver. Great video!
windsurf fin stock is weak this summer...had to go else were to get one...pooo, lol
So the duotone bar doesnt like other kites, but using for example a core bar on a duotone kite is okay?
It's the other way round, as he says. Duotone kites traditionally* need bars with a very high Y, which you only get from Duotone or by getting a distributor thingy and mounting it on other bars to force a high Y. But it's even more annoying. Duotone changes Y height quite frequently, and line attachments and different kite sizes also have an impact, so for your kite to perform optimally, you may have to tune Y height. Or just go with whatever your setup gives you and live with minor suboptimality. * It seems that as of 2024 some of the Duotone kites now want low Ys, though I am not 100% sure about that.
@yxx_chris_xxy ah okay, a friend is selling an older duo kite and I didn't want to buy it if my core bar wouldn't work great with it
@@yxx_chris_xxy in that case, if you use a slingshot bar and buy Duotone V-Distributor III, you can use duotone kites whit slingshot bars. Actually i will try that solutuon and then i will write results.
Is the 4.4 good enough for low winds 12-16mph and a 6’1” male? I’m looking for an option on windy days on the lake, and we don’t usually have big winds. Experience with regular SUPs.
What pressure do you inflate these boards to?
I’ve just ordered the North Orbit kite. Can I use the control bar from either Slingshot or Airush?
Apparently its 150 pulls. This guy is quoting specs for the re winch. Take this down asap.
Thanks for the video - is the Swing wingspan (eg in the 4m you showed) less in the new Swing Vs Strike??
Yea buy a new bar if it‘s dirty... best to throw the old one directly into the ocean.. like wtf man the only thing that needs to be replaced every few years are the lines the rest is fine. (The North bar you showed is probably perfectly fine)
No hate btw but I really don‘t understand why so many people replace their bar with a new (probably same but different colored) bar... those bars have nearly not changed in the last years (seatbelt chickenloop excluded)
Bars last up to 10 years.
black wing is badass, but I have the new graphics
Great to see the new range, thanks heaps. Spending 90% of my time in the waves these days so looks like time to move from strike to swing
I love my swings in the waves and actually prefer v2. It’ll be fun to see how the v4 rides
After two months of use the boom broke. It broke down due to poor quality boom material and complete ignorance of the engineers.
For the seven seas wing of 1000 with the 250 stabilizer, but which fuselage would you use for that set up? The xxxs? I’m looking at for up wind
I paid retail for this board. I can get up foiling in 8 mph with an Infinity 84 front wing and love using to foil. With a regular fin, it will work as a slalom board if the mast track is far enough forward. At $749, it's a steal. Only two downsides: 1. no track, so deep tuttle only. 2. mast track is hard to use as the bolt does not fit through the track. I use a 2-bolt base so I can just drop my base in.
Do you guys do shipments outside of the US? To Europe, to be exact.
Nice video!! Do you know if a North Rebel 2016 (with 5th line) can be properly used with a North wake style bar?
Hi! What's the weight of the wheleled one at 175 cm length please?
Weird that no one mentions the weight. I have a smaller wheeled Mystic 150 and would change to fit surfs and kites, but weight matters.
Eiiii
how can I contact
😢😢😢😢
Im looking to get away from wadders for fishing, 1 they can actually become very dangerous is you fall in fast moving water and 2 they just dont last. Ive been looking at wet suits and socks for some time now. I fish north arkansas up to Colorado in the winter. What would be a good suit for staying in water when its 20-40 degree outside. Not fully submerged, in from knees tk waits and somtime have to walk through chest high water.
Awesome! I have a core bar & just got a north reach. It's good to hear the core bar is generally gtg for most kites 🤙
Got the same! Also have several cabrinha kite's and bar, gonna try swapping them out with the core and north and see if I feel a difference
What size is the rear fin?
I got a Fly wing harness and love it! Thanks guys!
Awesome
Hi, do you know about lift in connection with aspect ratio? The lower the AR the bigger the surface you must have to get the same lift? 🤙
Bring back the north logo on that board
great video guys! Would there be lot's of difference noticable as a beginner between the carbon and non-carbon version looking at performance? As a beginner a slightly heavier board might give a bit more stability I would think...
The newer Duotone click bars can be set in high v or low v. Undo the distributor and it converts to low v in seconds. Simple but effective
Hi Is the bag big enough to back board and foil too ? And paded enough to fly with ? Thanks d'avance
Cabrinha is low Y.
Wind is always funky in the pond, send these guys up to the Hatch for big air lol. Nice work boys!
Hi kitesurfing to mombasa Kenya
How to buy😢
I am 175lbs and intermediate. What size would you recommend?
I would recommend the 7' 109L. A great blend of control, speed, and not too big not too small. Seems everyone demoing the one we have in stock love the size for a do it all board! Great wing foil too if you do that!
What foils are you using with these? Eagle 1290?
we were using the 1400 Seven Seas for newbs and light wind and Riding was done on the 1090 Eagle with 75cm HM Carbon mast.
