Flite Air Pro

It's unexpectedly agile! When Fliteboards were introduced to the market the cost was just under $20k. Plenty of people commented that they would get one if they were closer to $10k. Well the wait is over. This thing costs $11k and is an epic allrounder.
Fliteboard Ultra L2 Review
มุมมอง 1.8K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Is the Fliteboard Ultra L2 a game changer? Well it certainly glides better than the previous Ultra L. Also check out Adam Bennetts vid th-cam.com/video/rEoCjdUe1gQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yCN2psQxMG-aqQYF Obviously he is heaps better than the likes of me. He really demonstrates what can be achieved with talent and good waves.

    Thanks for you perspective, much appreciated! I am seriously think of getting the exact same board. My last Fliteboard was a series 3 Pro with a Flow 1300 wing. Your review was really helpful, cheers 😀

    Do you know what the technical issue would have been to accommodate the explorer battery? I think that's the only thing holding me back at this point.

      I think Flite realised that the explore is not a popular as it was. This is mainly due to the weight. Also these are aimed at the more budget conscious individuals.

    What are your thoughts on the propeller v the jet? Also for someone who doesn’t live in a place with good waves how does the L2 Ultra compare to the Pro series 3 for just riding around in a bay with minimal waves?

      @propel.flights3442 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry I didn’t get back to you. I didn’t get notification for some reason. Just to be clear the L2 is also equipped with the new carbon mast and smaller motor. You could certainly set up a pro this way by purchasing a pro board and buying the wave version of the Marc Newson mast. Don’t think there would be a lot of point to doing it though. In some respect you’re almost better off buying a pro and extra Fliteair for a friend. 😊

    I feel like the inflatable part would get torn apart pretty rapidly right? Especially in big waves? How do you attach a leash to the board? I didn't see a leash plug anywhere, and attaching leash to the inflatable part would destroy the inflatable section and rip it open... Right? Ultimately I'd love to get the ultra l2 but it's an insane amount of money to pay cash... I can afford the air one but im scared it won't be durable. What do you think of that board in the waves? Is it easy enough to turn to do cut backs? Do you think the board is durable?

    • @ashwillmot2051
      @ashwillmot2051 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is only leash plugs on the ultra models. I do think the pro boards should have leash plugs as well. Many people are just attaching a leash to the lifting handle on the pro and I don’t see how this would be any different. As to the board being torn up in the waves, I don’t think that’s likely. I actually feel like this Board would feel better if it went across the rocks. The reality is time will tell. The beauty of Fliteboard is that they come with a two year warranty so you don’t really need to worry too much. If you have a look at the pricing structure, you can basically buy the flight air now and then buy the ultra Board later and you’re not out of pocket by very much at all. Sorry for the late reply. I hope this was useful.

      "Good" inflatables are incredibly strong these days. I have several as well as hard boards and you take the inflatables places you'd never take your hard board and they STILL look better (like new) and outlast the hard boards unless you cut them with a knife or something. Rocks? You want inflatable. ;)

    Do you think fliteboards are pretty durable generally? It's gonna take me a year to save a for a $16 000 ultra L2. It's the price of a car, I wanna make sure it can last a while if I decide to ride it surfing waves powered and unpowered every day in Hawaii. Since I can't surf anymore because of a neck injury due to 20 years of paddling, an e-foil would literally change my life forever! I'm so tired of staying inside my house all the time while I live in Hawaii... I need to find a wave to catch waves without ruining my neck and shoulder with all the paddling... Anyhow.. thanks for the answer in advance! Love your videos! Very informative!

      Don’t worry, Flite are the most reliable and durable, I know by my experience with different brands, and professionals renting them, after dumping other brands as well, have had zero problem with their units for a full season or more. I am very busy, have no time to baby my Ultra, and have had zero issue despite that, +- 35 sessions and I bought it second had.

      Sorry, I hadn’t got back to you for some reason. I wasn’t receiving notifications. I think Fliteboard should potentially change their tagline from Find Freedom to Done Paddling. You should most certainly save up for one. I have had a customer up to about 100 kg riding an Ultra L2. I would suggest however that about 80 kg is the sweet spot. To be honest, my neck gives me a bit of grief if I paddle for too long. You should definitely save up and get a Fliteboard.

    Can you try it with a sport battery and a 1000 wing? Im wondering how difficult it is to pump with

    • @propel.flights3442
      @propel.flights3442 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn’t get a chance at the time, but I would say it would be a little bit more difficult. I would be misleading people if I made it seem like you could use this to replace a prone board. This is most certainly still an e-Foil and should be ridden as such. It’s great that you can write a wave underpowered but I don’t think there is a lot of point trying to pump off the back of the wave and double dip. Adam Bennetts certainly able to do it but for the rest of us mortals it would be a bit of a challenge.

    Does the new smaller motor feel like it has less power? Does this board get better battery range with its lower drag and smaller motor? Can't wait to get mine?

    • @propel.flights3442
      @propel.flights3442 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To be honest, I didn’t ride that particular one for long enough during my demo to tell you if you get better battery life. The motor does have plenty of power although the two blade prop doesn’t grip as well meaning you need to use a higher gear to get started. Once I was riding though I was generally riding on speed two or three on the gears. Sorry for the late response for some reason I wasn’t getting my notifications.

    Pros and cons of TrueGlide prop vs. Folding prop?

    • @propel.flights3442
      @propel.flights3442 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      TG will wear out eventually. TG has more drive. TG is quieter when powered. Fold is better for turning with power on and off, better for letting go of the trigger better glide and no noise when power off. Only down sides are little noise when riding power on, less drive to get started, need a higher gear to get started, but not while riding. Get one of the folding props if you have intentions of riding waves for more than a few seconds. If you are local get in contact for a demo.
