I found if you record yourself playing you may get a surprise how bad you sound☺️Your recording will expose any weaknesses especially tuning,phrasing and technique!. I thought I was pretty good until I recorded myself and found out I was anything but!. What you imagine you sound like and reality can be very different!. This was the biggest insensitive for me to be more aware of what I was producing and I can hear how I’m improving or not as the case may be!.

This is the clearest advice I’ve ever come across brilliantly played by a top dedicated superb cornet player Tom I can’t wait to get this into my practice routine 🎺🎶🎺🎶🎺 Always trying to improve even at 64 😊 Thank You I’m saving this demo 🎺🎶🎺🙏🏻

Thanks Tom that was great. I have just restarted playing cornet again at 77(why not!) and found your guidance on practising helpful . My Arban hardback cost £2.25 (1965) it is amazing that it is still the masterwork. Best wishes David
