Ya - most people who know soles know this. There is a difference between "slip" and "grip" in soles. For example golf shoes - great grip on grass and gassy hills, dangerous slip on the tile floor in the club house. For wet times - you can have the soles replaced by a shoe cobbler with Vibram ETON soles which are made for urban wet slippery hard urban surfaces - slip protection. They look like Dainties but are way different. However, They wont do that great in snow or mud (grip). Work with your shoe cobbler to select soles that are right for your use - I use Vibram Etons in spring - fall shoes for rain . I use Vibram Stowe or Middlebury soles on other boots and shoes in cold freezing snow, but would also use these in rain if needed.

I tend to wear winter boots in winter. Ones that are insulated and that have actual winter soles that are designed to be sticky on wet surfaces. I have not experienced Dainite soles being slippery but I'm going to be extra careful now. I have 2 pairs of boots with Dainite soles and never even considered them to be dangerous like you described. Thank you for the heads up.

The Last they use for the Moc Toe is way too narrow. I bought a pair in 11EE and it was noticeably narrower in the toe box than my Iron Ranger in 11D. I had to sell them.
