Conversation about bass fishing... Anything goes as long as it's about bass fishing.
Quick Flip Clip - Lake Rousseau Aug 2024
JC and I brought our boats to break down a tough bite on Lake Rousseau. He stumbled across a school feeding in the hydrilla. He was fishing the outside, I went in with the big weight...didn't take long at all!

This was a tough day. I missed a lot of bites or the fish missed the bait. Landed a few...caught all the bass on a Bitter's Bait Sling with no weight. Sometimes the bite is just slow and this was one of those days. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching.

Yep...fished the tournament yesterday...we stunk...lol. 5 for 6 pounds...
@@andrewpulliamfishing at least you had limit
@@rustyreidfishing3334 yea, that's a start, but we needed ten more pounds to make a run at it
@@andrewpulliamfishing someone was on em
Good info
Hi Andrew - do you remember what the average depth was on this run?
Dunn's Creek depth was fine...there are some tree lay downs when cutting corners you want to to look for...
Good video bud!
July and August are the 2 Worse months to fish in FL. It’s wayyyy to hot. I fish pan a-lot. In those months you will either catch a baby or a huge one. I caught a 12 lber about the time you were out there.
I was hoping for the 12...lol. I got all the babies...😆 🤣 😂. Thanks for watching
@@andrewpulliamfishing no prob
Thank you!!! Great help!!
awesome...I'm glad it helped out.
Beautiful area and that was a lot of nice bass!
yes it was...thanks for watching...I wish it was like that everyday...lol.
Great video bro! I was gonna mention that you should change your heading sensor on your console graph so it doesn't show you going backwards, unless of course you prefer it that way lol. I think there are 3 options. Anyway, keep up the great work bro!
Thanks man...you're right, I should do that. Lol. Appreciate the feedback!
First you were speeding on 48 which we don't appreciate so slow down there are children living in that area We also don't appreciate your videos of our local fishing holes bringing in out of towners to put more pressure on our waters Its bad enough with the snowbirds and all the people fleeing democrat run states up north If you want live here and want to fish here fine make your videos but don't say where you are exactly
If I was speeding, it was an accident, but I'll be careful next time I go there. As far as secret fishing holes go, I don't know any. You should worry about the kids fishing on the ramp...they had a cooler full of 3 to 5 pounders they were taking home...I release everything and I promise my "less than" 250 subs are not going to hurt your fishery. But since it's important to you, I'll leave the lake name out of the title from now on. Take care.
@@andrewpulliamfishing THANKS ! There are people in that area that rely on the fish those kids catch to put food on the table They are doing the same thing their fathers and grandfather's as far back as any of them can remember have been doing to eat That area is one of the pooer neighborhoods in the county 48 coming into town after the "S" curves to the stoplight is a prime place to get a ticket
Yep I feel you haven’t had much luck this summer. It’s just way too hot during the day. In the afternoon is when the big mamas pop out tho
Agree...no luck with big ones for sure...can't wait for to cool down a little...
Have you seen any gators in there?
Yes...most Florida lakes have them, especially if the lake has any size to it
I was in Johns lake kayaking last weekend didn’t catch 💩 didn’t see any 🐊 either
@willie123811 it's hot out now, it can be tough everywhere...what part of the lake did you fish?
@@andrewpulliamfishing I’m not sure I just know there was two docks next to each other
@willie123811 I caught some right near the ramp and in some of the back lakes
White Mr. Twisters on a black jig head with red eye's and you should be able to catch a lot bass
You get into iCast?
I was invited as a guest of Southerland Outdoors. I helped work their booth. It was my first one and it was awesome!
SanDisk Extreme is the best.
I'm glad to hear that...I can record the entire day now...the 128gb would always run out of room with an hour or two left to fiah...
@@andrewpulliamfishing Have you ever shot in 5 min loops? I find it makes for easier editing not having to go back through 6-8 hours of video when editing
@rustyreidfishing3334 yes. I tried looping and it does cut down on editing, but I miss more than I want to. .sometimes I forget to start it again and miss good catches...
@@andrewpulliamfishingoh I’ve done that! Especially on larger fish when I take time to weigh. I’ve missed two trophy catches because I get busy weighing and measuring for Florida Trophy Catch.
Some people have no sense for fishing. Be happy, he didn't stop direct on your side to ask: Hey, do they bite ? 😮
True...😆
Best part is that chilling elevator music 😅
Thanks...I'll have to remember which one I used...lol.
"@@andrewpulliamfishing You are welcome! Please go on with your "work". We need much more of good fishing content. .👍🏻
@s.f.4896 will do...thanks again! If you ever have anything specific, please ask away...
What kind of hooks and weights would you use for a Texas rig?
The hooks for worm fishing would be a "worm" hook. Sizes range depending on how big of a worm you're using. Worms can range from 3 inches to 16 inches. To Start, I would use a number 4 worm hook with a 7 inch worm( it doesn't have to be exact). The weight would vary on how deep the lake you're fishing is...start with a 1/8 ounce and adjust from there.
Now this is a "satisfying" clip😂
Thanks, I'll put more out like this one...thanks for the feedback!
Nice
Thanks
How did it bend?!? HOW ABOUT YOU DRAGGING PROP ALONG the BOTTOM of the LAKE !!! RING a BELL ???
it bent when I was over tightening the nut when I put it back on...I don't drag my trolling motor on the bottom...I would have my trolling motor very long...lol
Im going to have to grab one and try it😮
💯 This was the first time throwing it...I'll be throwing it again!
I was lucky enough to win the Mad Shad Prototype that they did a drawing for on their show. I have had some success with it in the Hillsborough River, but I want to get on a lake with it. Thanks for sharing your experience!! Tight Lines!
That's awesome...I've been bugging Rick for a year now lol. I'm so glad it's out and I have it. I need to fish the river...I haven't been there in a long time...
I would wait till we get some rain. Right now all the ramps are closed because the water is so low. Once the afternoon showers start it should fill up pretty quick.
Oh wow...that's good to know...thanks
You were getting strikes from shell crackers. Hooks to big to get em
I did catch a lot of bass too...it was the first time fishing there for me in a long time...I just thought they were small bass, but shell cracker makes sense too...
Right in the main river lol
Nope...
Good work bud
Thanks 👍
Yes all the above😂
I need to make myself throw it. But I’ve got my own confidence bait and have a hard time putting it down for very long
You've definitely got the swim bait down, but a fluke in specific cover, will put em in the boat...🎣
I throw a fluke when it’s raining or not raining and when the winds blowing or not blowing lol
Gets bit...not all big, but it will put en in the boat
Rocket launch from the cape
I thought it was pretty cool when I was editing...
I get notices of rocket launches almost daily it seems. I’m on west coast of Florida and can still see them. Night launches are really visible
That’s when you wish you had a big glass boat
Yep...but the aluminum boats come in handy a lot too...
@@andrewpulliamfishing I love my tin rig! It’s actually got more deck and storage than the Ranger I ran in my tournament days. Not as fast but sure a lot more economical to operate
100% agree
Welcome to my world
thats a whole lotta heartbreak lol
The day got a lot better...just can't fit everything in a 60 second short...lol. A lot of bad words edited out...😆 🤣
Would love to hook up on some nice bass. But I never seem to have much luck in fresh water. Gotta learn where they are hiding in the lakes around here I guess
What area do you live in? I can give you ideas...what lake or lakes do you fish?
@@andrewpulliamfishing Tallahassee, Florida. We have Lake Jackson, Piney Z and Lake Talquin that are all supposed to be great for Bass. I hit up the bream, but no luck so far for bass
@@LLDWITHJ I've heard of Talquinn...that's a good lake from what I hear...what are your favorite baits to throw?
#1 rule about fishing grass.........Always fish the Grass! lol
You got that right!
You guys lost
Lol...I know...150 vs 250 will lose every time
@@andrewpulliamfishing meh: 200 shot NOS.
Solid catches! Enjoyed the video
Thanks for watching...going to East Lake Toho this weekend...hoping to get some good footage there...
Love the 350 big block Chevrolet sound effects for the motor
Lol...that was an air boat behind me...it did look cool though...😆 🤣 timing was perfect
You have picked up quite a few subs lately. Congratulations! Make sure you 👍 & Subscribe guys😊
Thank you sir...just fishing and posting...
4:36, do you ticpally yse a spinner bait on blue bird days? I wouldn't have thought to do that
Notice where I'm casting it...in the grass...a lot of guys don't do that and just fish edges, so fish don't see it in the grass...the water is also stained, so it's similar to a cloudy day in the water...
Hey Andrew. Could you kindly tell us about that video camera on ur baseball cap please? What do you call that?
Sure...it's called LidCam. They make a couple different versions of it, but I like it because it gives a point of view from my eyes. The cameras that a lot of guys wear on their chest is ok, but when I'm fishing, it would get in the way a little. And it doesn't block my vision at all...their price is around 100 bucks, give or take when it's on sale. My only critique about it, is the sound...sometimes it picks up on by breathing too much and the wind...I'm working on that...let me know if you have any other questions thanks.
2:03 that's right😂
I feel that.
😂😂😂😂
that one hurt...lol
Glad to see you back! Nice thumbnail 😊
Which lake?
Griffin...in the marsh
@@andrewpulliamfishing finally got my boat out of the shop. After 4 weeks finally hitting Hernando tomorrow
@rustyreidfishing3334 good luck...look forward to the video
Que massa, parabéns
Thank you
This looks like lake pan
It is...fun day...
Nice Fish! See that light line gets the bites😊
Lol...I agree...but add a pound or so to that fish, it ends differently...I use lighter line when there's water to play the fish in, but in the junk, I always upgrade..
@andrewpulliamfishing Yes, you are right. I broke off 2 fish at Griffin on Saturday but caught big bass. She stayed on thankfully 😅
It's part of the reason we do it...figuring out the best way to get em in the boat!
That's a big Pickerel. Hey thanks for commenting and tuning into my live stream couple days ago. I will pay more attention to the comments next time. It would have been cool to interact with you guys. Learning curb. Thanks again. Tune in next time and help me figure out what I need to be using it will be fun😊
