The Mount Carmel Area Planetarium: Spitz A3P
Today we take a look at the Mount Carmel Area Jr./Sr. High School Planetarium, where students can explore the wonders of the universe! Featuring our classic Spitz A3P mechanical projector, this video offers a glimpse into the engaging educational experiences we provide at MCA.
The Spitz A3P was designed in the early 1960s and featured in our building when it opened in 1977. It continued to be sold through the 1980s and remains the most popular planetarium projector ever sold.
Our planetarium has inspired countless minds over the years, and we look forward to continuing our mission of bringing the stars to life for generations to come. As we grow and adapt to new technologies, we’re excited to explore the possibilities for the future of our planetarium as we move forward through the digital age.

Shaping the Future: Grant Proposal for Classroom 3d Printers
มุมมอง 798 หลายเดือนก่อน
My name is Jesse Wagner, and I'm a science educator at the Mount Carmel Area Jr./Sr. High School. Currently we are seeking funds to purchase 3D printers for physical science classes to assist with our engineering design projects. I currently use my personal 3D printer to print pieces to use in class. My goal is to acquire printers for the classroom to handle the volume of projects we plan to co...

The Monkey and the Hunter Physics Demonstration for under $15. Mr. Wagner's Physics Class
มุมมอง 2523 ปีที่แล้ว
The monkey and the hunter is a popular physics demonstration designed to show that the force of gravity acting on an object is independent of that object’s velocity. Simply put; an object fired horizontally will hit the ground at the same time as an object that is dropped from the same height, ceteris paribus. For my setup I used; 18” of 1.5” PVC 2 adjustable stand clamps 2 magnets as ceiling m...

Atomic Math: Determining protons, neutrons, and electrons - Mr Wagner's 8th Grade General Science
มุมมอง 1223 ปีที่แล้ว
This video introduces the concept of atomic number and atomic mass, and reviews what we talked about in an earlier video; the three major subatomic particles. This video is for 8th grade level introductory general science concepts, so it is very basic in the presenting of atomic mass and makes no mentions of ions. It is not meant to provide a full, in depth analysis of the intricacies of atomic...

Who is the target audience of this video? Why is it on the public internet? TH-cam videos can be "unlisted" such that only people with the link can see them. Otherwise, good luck with your project. I agree 3d printers have reached the point of technical maturity that they have become a tool that 10+ children can start exploring too.

I like what you've done here. Explained the important points, used real life examples, and kept the video short. The only thing I would suggest is to have the camera be steadier. I like to show videos like this to my students (6th grade) but if it is too unsteady on my projector screen then I prefer not to show it there.
