Thanks! Yeah, it really flowed this time. Felt great. Standing up off the lower right foothold, rather than brining it high and rocking over, felt much easier

Could definitely add screw on holds. The plywood is think and easily accepts screws! Only thing I have found on my 2016 set where I have added holds is that I try to keep holds low profile, just so I don’t hit them with with my elbow or knee when making moves at my limit.

Here is the full set-up @moonclimbing moonclimbing.com/mini-moonboard-diy-kit.html. I ended up getting the kit because it was a bit less of a hassle given other constraints in my life at the time, but you could make one much more economically just buying and painting some 4*8s and not using the lights. The actual lumbar for the supports, screws, etc was under 300$.

Hi @StefanoGandolfo. The mini packs plenty of oomph into its size. I wouldn't worry about it not packing enough punch. So if the size works, I would go with it. I would personally stick with the mini at 40degrees. While the grading will definitely feel stiff to start, you would be amazed at how fast your body will adapt, even after the age of 40 :)

For the 2016 Moonboard set, I padded my garage with over-the-counter 1/2" foam that you can buy at Home Depot, Target, etc. Then over that I have two Mondo Black Diamond (www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en_US/product/mondo-crash-pad/) pads as the pads further back, with three smaller Mad Rock (madrock.com/products/mad-pad-2023?variant=44760029724978) pads up front. They are the same ones I use when I go outside bouldering. The older I get, the more padding I need.

Hahah. Yeah, on the mini for the bigger moves off the floor it can be hard to not have something catch.

Great question. I haven’t climbed on the 2019 board, so can’t comment directly. Compared to the 2016 set, I would say it is comparable. They just climb different, so different skills are being developed.

After pulling the lip and topping out, it’s just some down climbing on the slab to the left. Not too bad!

@MrDummyKicker - Hard to say for me which is sandbagged more. As a training tool both have strengths and weaknesses. In some ways, I think it depends on what you are looking for. I haven’t climbed V10 in either format, so hard for me to say. Generally some gyms are soft, some are stacked. I would say the MB ratings trend on the stacked side

Yeah, was doing a bunch of double repeats for a strength/endurance circuit
